I assume this is some sort of specialty filly bred by the Steward for out-crossing and/or bringing in some sort of multi division breeding.

But how does racing a foal out of a mare like this work? They'll only have 3/4 a pedigree. Are the sire lines in horses like this normally extra powerful to compensate for the missing dam line points?

I don't know that anyone but the game makers know how it works really but you see it be succesful sometimes and not so succesful others. It's certainly a mysterious but cool corner of the game.

In this case the real-life stallion Roaring Lion passed away in New Zealand after he'd served his first book of mares in the UK but before he covered any in NZ. He was an outstanding racehorse and I personally was MASSIVELY excited to see him standing at stud here (I'm a huge fan of his sire but not much of that blood has made its way to Australia or NZ).Gwen Morse wrote: ↑3 years ago I assume this is some sort of specialty filly bred by the Steward for out-crossing and/or bringing in some sort of multi division breeding.

He would've been (or was) a GP stallion at the time, but real-life stallions stop being available in the SIM when they pass away in real life. So Em gave him one last hurrah by auctioning off a couple of dozen fillies by him.
That's a very interesting question, and I have no idea what the answer is. Maybe the spots that will be absent in the pedigree of her foals (2nd dam, DDS, 3rd dam) get given the same score as the dam by default? But really, I have no idea.Gwen Morse wrote: ↑3 years ago But how does racing a foal out of a mare like this work? They'll only have 3/4 a pedigree. Aww, that's kind of sad, but nice that his bloodline made it into the sim.Michael Looker wrote: ↑3 years ago He was an outstanding racehorse and I personally was MASSIVELY excited to see him standing at stud here (I'm a huge fan of his sire but not much of that blood has made its way to Australia or NZ).

I wasn't sure if it was the sort of thing that had been explained in the past.Michael Looker wrote: ↑3 years agoThat's a very interesting question, and I have no idea what the answer is.
