Blue Bayou - A Monster In The Shed!

Post by Danny Derby »

I almost feel a little weird saying this, but I feel like he's somehow a little bit overlooked and for the life of me I can't figure out why. Let's try and fix that!

Image

He stands for only $65K, a bargain for an elite level DR sire. His hypos are in the top tier, giving an A for mares that most sires will only give an A-. And he will always have slots open and be available for breeding.

From his 394 foals to date, he sports some of the top gallop numbers in the DR division including...

5.4% have galloped freak
17.9% have galloped stakes
An incredible 58.1% gallop allowance or higher

He won the Louisville Derby, and his foals have no issue going the 1-1/4 mile classic distance.

On the track his runners also perform at the highest level.

3 Millionaires
2 Steward's Cup winners
Many G1 winners
Average earnings that easily surpass his stud fee

You'd be hard pressed to find a better pedigree in the game. He's a son of uber mare Let It Go who has produced 5 millionaires to date, including two Steward's Cup winning half sisters. She in turn is a daughter of Wish Upon A Star out of Corona, which I can say without exaggeration is one of the top two female family lines in the SIM.

Please give him a serious look for your breedings in Year 56 and beyond!

I plan to use him this year.

He gave me a Stakes filly last season!

You're right, he is a beast!

Maybe you should change his name to "Blue Matthews Band?"

You probably would end up turning clients away?

i'll definitely be sending ladies his way! I bred a Hold Above mare to him last season and the resulting filly is a Progressive Stakes, I am very pleased.

Just a reminder that Blue Bayou is ready and available for your mares, and is represented this year by top Louisville Derby contender Poet's Corner.

His gallop numbers are higher than ever with the recent round of improvers - check them out in the stud book. What are you waiting for?
