MAL

Current Stud Fee: $43,500
Turf Route

5 time Grade 1 winner:

Cox Trophy
Oceanside Derby
Metropolitan Turf Derby
Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini
The Chicago Million

Record: 22:8:5:3
~He's finished in the top 3 spots in 16 of his 22 races, most of which were Grade 1 races

He comes from my successful "Foremost" pedigree line, and has strong sires in his pedigree

He is a 1/2 sibling to Roughian.
~Their dam Fortitude was a graded stakes winner, and a blue hen type mare.

His sire, Nightmarch. is also the sire of my millionaire earner and blue hen mare, Foretold.

-----------------
For his breeding and his race record, I think his stud fee is more than fair for a 1st year stallion.
However, after next year's gallops...if he ends up with any stakes or freaks... his price will more than likely double.

Thank You, to those who have sent mares to him.

Stormy

Mal sired a few stakes quality foals, but no freaks with his first crop...but hopefully, there will be some who will be late bloomers and jump up to freak at some point.

As I said in my last post, I was going to increase his price...even double it if he had freaks. I'm going to do the increase but not double the price. So I think it will still be a more than fair stud fee given his pedigree, his Grade 1 wins/track earnings...and that he's shown he can sire stake quality horses. Also...his allowance types and Productive types combined make up about 48 percent of his foals.... so I think those foals can be useful earners for their owners.

His stud fee was $25,000 and I'm increasing it to $38,500

And thanks again to everyone who sent a mare to him.

Thanks to everyone who's sent mares to him.

Also, his dam is Fortitude.
The article had his grand-dam, Forethought listed twice...once as his dam and once as his grand-dam.

BUMP: Notice of Stud Fee Increase

Mal now has a dozen foals who are stake types, and a couple of freaks too. His 3 year olds have just started their season and the 2 year olds won't be running until later in the season. He's a young stallion but I think he's off to a decent start.

His stud fee has been $38,500

I'm going to increase it to $43,500.

Anyone wishing to get in on the old fee, and thus save $5,000 - can get a refund from me if you breed a mare to him between now (Thursday Nov. 4th) and Sunday (Nov. 7).
After the barrier trials close on Sunday, the discount will no longer be available.
