Post by Lance Macisaac »

Y57 Steward’s Cup Gold Cup Champion A Rose For Emily is now standing in France for $12,500, and all offspring will be eligible for French-bred sponsored sire stakes and more than 20,000 in GP winnings.

A detailed list of A Rose For Emily’s accomplishments and qualities are below, but here is the info for the races and contests that will be sponsored for A Rose For Emily’s babies.

The son or daughter with the most points at the end of their three-year-old year for A Rose For Emily’s first two crops will receive their points x50. For example, if the leading horse has 100 points at the end of their season, the owner will receive 5,000GP.

Furthermore, any offspring of A Rose For Emily that win a Steward’s Cup race will receive a bonus 5,000GP – one per horse.

Now, the sponsored races which carry GP bonuses for sons or daughters of A Rose For Emily:

“A Rose For Emily Hurdle.” Y62 W14 D1: A $75,000 bumper for French-bred three-year-old colts and geldings at 2¼ miles. The winner of the race (assuming they are a son of A Rose For Emily) will receive 5,000GP. If the winner is not a son of A Rose For Emily, the highest-placed son will receive the points.

“Southern Gothic Stakes.” Y62 W14 D1: A $50,000 bumper for French-bred three-year-old fillies at 2 miles. The winner of the race (assuming they are a daughter of A Rose For Emily) will receive 5,000GP. The same rules apply regarding the winning/highest-placed horse. This race will only go forward if there are at least 40 three-year-olds and at least 12 are fillies. If those numbers have not been met, the previous race will become an Open worth $100,000.

“William Faulkner Hurdle.” Y63 W12 D1: A $50,000 bumper for French-bred three-year-olds at 2¼ miles. The winner of the race (assuming they are sired by A Rose For Emily) will receive 2,000GP. The same rules apply regarding the winning/highest-placed horse. This race will only go forward if there are at least 30 three-year-olds.

“A Rose For Emily Championship Chase.” Y63 W14 D1: A $100,000 steeplechase for French-bred three-year-olds and up at 2⅝ miles. The winner will receive 10,000GP. The same rules apply regarding the winning/highest-placed horse.

All races will take place at Timber Park, so keep that in mind when campaigning your horses.

The winner of each sire stakes race will also receive one free breeding.
