Valley of Fire Retired - Versatile Son of Slickrock
Retired my hard-knocking, multiple graded stakes winner Valley of Fire tonight.
Was disappointed with his finish in the Flyaway Handicap which he won last year, he just seemed to be done with racing. Checked his hypos, as one does, with my handful of dirt route and mile mares. From what I can tell, they are really good, shockingly good. Got to get some foals on the ground, but for now this is top 5 SIM moments for me. Headshot ordered.
He is sound and versatile, even though my attempts at running him at a mile were really bad, could have been my fault. He did seem to excel at the short routes though.
Hypos with my 3 formidable dirt routers:
Angels Waiting A
Princess Flye A
Thunder Clatter A-
Hypos with dirt milers:
Blue Hen I Want You A
Star What You Need A-
Formidable Fight For You A-
Other Hypos for I Want You:
Valley of Fire A
Kentucky Storm A
Slickrock A-
Introductory Stud Fee $75,000
EDIT: After receiving more hypo information, he is even more bananas than I thought. Needed to raise the fee.

Now he has a face with a glorious nose!
Fun Valley of Fire fact: he was an allowance galloper that double jumped to become freaky at 3.

You know how much I like this stud for the future Gen, I hope he does super super nice for you! He is MEGA exciting!!
P.S. His hypos are kinda out of this world. I'm talking As on formidables that can only get A- to any other stud. Yes, ANY other stud

At the risk of completely letting the cat out of the bag, causing a full on rush and taking business away from my own stallions, I want to point out that theres no better hypomating stud in Dirt Routing right now than Valley Of Fire. Forget a Flat A with stallions who normally are A-. I've seen more A+ hypos with him than I've seen with any stud before, Dave Matthew's Band included. Here's how hypos are looking on a number of my mares right now.
Sure the pedigree is questionable, but if you're breeding based on hypomates then run don't walk to get him at $75K.

WOWSA.
He's a straight "A" with my mare Baby Shark Doo Doo. She's a Formidable and her best nick prior to that was A- (with Dave Matthews Band and a few other tippy-top studs). So this guy definitely nicks on his own level.

Very very nice stallion. Congrats Gen! I dream of having a boy this nice. Both my foals from him are A+ and are my first ever foals to achieve that hypo. I think you’re going to have lots of Oaks winning fillies coming from his bloodline in a few seasons time!

Wow! I got my first ever DR A+ hypo from him!

Thanks for the support everyone! Things got crazy fast.
I'm going to try to keep him available as possible, especially at the end of the year.
Can't wait to see what these pretty foals do on the track.

Thanks. My thoughts were that if this was only top five, I must have missed the other four outstanding stallions
These were some really nice moments as well. But Valley of fire is a legend already.. at least in my opinion.

WOW.
I have a formid who has a stakes 2yo by Best Revenge (was freak before adjustment) and an allowance LB yearling by Maximus. After she foaled the 2yo I mass hypo'd her and she got nothing above a B+.
She is A- to this guy. She already foaled a DMB filly this year but I definitely I know who her baby daddy next year will be.
