Raced in 13 Gr.1 races but ran out of the money in all 13. I recently purchased Just Right who is a 10 year old Steward bred freshman sire. In spite of his race record, I decided to give him a chance at stud. Just Right may prove to be just the right sire for just the right mare.

I thought I would add some other of my sires to this thread/post.

Let's start with Dave Matthews Band shall we? He's cool.

Image

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1023341

Dirt Route: He's 13 years old
Stats: 11: 8-2-1 He won the Baltimore Crown.
Earnings: $3,836,000 He won some Gr. 1s
Stud book: He has really good Allowance or better Offspring Gallop percentages.

Other: I like him as a sire - I like him a lot.

Post Note: Jon Xett is just a little bit biased when it comes to all things Dave Matthews Band.

Dave Matthews lyrics:

"You Might Die Trying"

To change the world,
Start with one step.
However small,
The first step is hardest of all.

If you give, you begin to live
You get the world, you get the world.

I just did a little research and discovered that DMB is tied with Maelstrom for most Kentucky Derby winners produced by a stallion (4). I feel like he very well may surpass that number seeing as he has at least 4 more crops that could have starters in the Derby.

Cheers to a good one, Jon!

Lights Down

Image

https://www.simhorseracing.com/studbook ... ID=1047331

Turf Route: He's 13 years old
Stats: 21: 10-3-4 He won the Baltimore Crown.
Earnings: $2,506,800 - He won Gr. 1 races as a 2yo (SC Bunbury), 3yo (Virginia Turf Cup), 4yo (United Freedoms Stakes, Toronto International)

from Dave Matthews' Ants Marching lyrics:
Take these chances
Place them in a box until a quieter time
Lights down, you up and die

(What I think Dave is trying to say here is that life is short so get out there, take a chance and do something good.) But that's just me, jX

End of Year 63 note: Thank you for using Rapid Gray Stable's sires this year.

I know that there are a lot of super nice stallions to choose from in SIM and it is always fun for me to look at and study your foals from my studs.

My sincere appreciation goes out to all of the SIM players who have taken a chance on my other unheralded stallions in Year 63.

I wish you good luck in Year 64 and positive slides for your foals. jX

Kentucky Trophy

Image

New headshot. This dark bay horse with a wonky stripe is gaining traction in the very competitive dirt route arena. He has his first crop of 2 year olds racing. Magical, his top gallop rated colt won his week 10 debut. Kentucky Trophy has a smattering of stakes rated yearlings to look forward to in Year 64.

Dirt Route and possibly Dirt Mile

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1316132 Mr. Wonderful - So Right (Saturday Silence)

Earnings: $421,300
Stats: 24: 5-8-4
Stud Fee: $25,063

2yo: 2nd Gr. 1 Inglewood Futurity as a Maiden
3yo: 2nd Gr. 2 Owlpha Stakes as a Maiden; 20th and last in the Year 59 Louisville Derby as a maiden (I know, I know Ha! But I guess I was trying to be the first to win the Derby with a maiden). Broke his maiden week 8 with a (92) speed rating. 3rd Gr. 1 Prince of Peace, 1st JC Gonzales Memorial Handicap defeating the venerable Valley of Fire.
4yo: 1st Gr. 3 Arkansas Handicap,
5yo: 1st in the 1 mile New York Leader Stakes followed by 2nd in theGr. 2, 1 1/4 mile, Spa Distance Handicap, followed by 1st in the Gr. 3 Frisco Kid Stakes followed by 10th in the Gr. 1 Steward's Cup Dirt Mile. (I know, I know, believe me I know but by now, you all know that I do not do anything SIM by the book.)

Perhaps Kentucky Trophy is worth a look for your nice mare. Multiple Gr. 1 winning So Right, a top producing mare in my stable won the Gr. 1 Steward's Cup Distaff in Year 56. . Saturday Silence was a shocking winner of the Gr. 1 Steward's Cup Juvenile and Mr. Wonderful needs no introduction.
