YEAR 25 FINAL STATS. ...Here are the final rankings for the year. Mind you, not all the stallions crops were of equal proportion so I'm sure it's a safe bet that these numbers will continue to change drastically as the next few seasons pass us by. All-in-all, Goldmine was the heavyweight in the shed making his initial 2-1/2 years standing in the shed for $5,000 seem like a dream. He now stands for $20,000, but his foals have brought home over a $1 million in earnings and have won multiple graded races and listed stakes including the 400-yd Star of Stars Trial2, 550-yd G3 Generous Stakes, 400-yd G3 Ruidoso Special, 400-yd G1 California Juvenile. All of his top 15 ranked 2yos (out of 20) have earned more than double his original stud fee of $5,000. Eleven of those 20 2yos have earned more than his new stud fee of $20,000. Year 26 will see 26 more Goldmine offspring hitting the track. There are an additional 35 waiting in the wings for Year 27!! I think it's safe to safe LaDonna has made back her original purchase price of the gifted stallion. :)

Corona Cartel is another hot stud this year. His 13 offspring won from 220-yds to amazingly enough 870-yds!! Ten of his 13 runners this year won back the $10,000 stud fee (plus some). There are a whopping 32 yearlings waiting to hit the track running in Year 26. However, there are only a shy 13 waiting by their dams' sides for Year 27 to roll around. But hold the tears -- this small crop is full of quality with the pack led by speed demon princess Early Allure's (stakes winner) buckskin filly Cryingphotographer and duel-winner/grade 1 placed Chattahoochee's sorrel colt Corona Lime.

Last, but not least, is Dbacks -- the king of QH marathons! The Champion Male proudly watched his 16 2yos duke it out on the track and hold off potential threats to the thrown starting half way through the Year 25 season. Only 6 made it to the winner's enclosure for a measley 37.5%, but marathons don't really show up until next year for these juveniles so I suspect that that win percentage is going to blow up huge next season! His 2yos collected a couple of listed stakes and a G3, not too bad for 2yos that haven't reached their prime yet. There are 23 more Dback offspring snorting in their stalls waiting for their turn at the starter gate next year. The Year 27 foals look great as a nice quality group waiting to be unleashed, headlined by mares Downfield Dash, New Chex To Cash, Long Cool Woman, and To Cute Four You. To-date, only 4 have earned back the original stud fee of $25,000.

LEADING SIRES BY TOTAL EARNINGS
$1,172,030 - Goldmine
$427,350 - Corona Cartel
$275,230 - Dbacks
$78,510 - Holland Ease
$73,540 - First Down Dash

LEADING SIRES BY WINNERS
15 - Goldmine
9 - Corona Cartel
6 - Dbacks
3 - Holland Ease
2 - First Down Dash

LEADING SIRES BY WIN PERCENTAGE:
75% - Goldmine
69.2% - Corona Cartel
66.7% - First Down Dash
37.5% - Dbacks
30% - Holland Ease

LEADING SIRES BY PERCENTE STAKES WINNERS:
33.3% - First Down Dash
23.1% - Corona Cartel
18.8% - Dbacks
10% - Goldmine
0% - Holland Ease

I retired Fast Gas tonight. He's nothing particularly special but he IS a multiple stakes winner and loves 550-650 yards.

And he's my first mixed stud. :)

So I'm slightly bored and decided to see which QH stallions were the kindest to me in this year's yearling crop.

Ghostfreak -- 5 bred: 1 WOW, 3 wings, 1 nice (I'm sooo glad Bryan did not keep this guy from the public)
Goldmine -- 5 bred: 1 WOW, 2 wings, 2 nice (naturally, this stud is awesome)
Little Feller -- 11 bred: 8 wings, 3 nice (very nice!)
Buckskin Joe's -- 6 bred: 4 wings, 2 nice
Optimus Prime -- 5 bred: 3 wings, 2 nice
Smug Cat -- 3 bred: 2 wings, 1 nice
Kings -- 3 bred: 2 wings, 1 nice
Six Fortunes -- 1 bred: 1 wings
First Down Dash -- 1 bred: 1 wings
Special Effect -- 3 bred: 1 wings, 2 nice
Trickster's Star -- 3 bred: 1 wings, 2 nice
Birdy Boy Zoom -- 10 bred: 1 wings, 7 nice, 2 not impressed (disappointing after my first crop by him had so much promise)
Quarter Miler -- 4 bred: 4 nice
Flash Q -- 2 bred: 2 nice
Dbacks -- 1 bred: 1 nice (this one was disappointing as the 2 older full siblings have wings)
Mr Cellophane -- 2 bought: 1 nice, 1 not impressed
Hey Big Spender -- 1 bought: 1 not impressed
