Help - Sprinters All Booked Full

Post by Nikki Everdeen »

I have had ZERO time for the SIM this year and am frantically trying to breed what I can. I've realized that I have no idea who to breed my App, QH and Paint sprint mares to because EVERY stallion that I actually like is booked full. I have some serious mares and it's killing me that I have no idea who to breed them to. Can anyone help or suggest something? I'm not looking to give a mediocre stallion a shot...I really want to get something that will give me the opportunity for a stakes or better. All of these (unless they're maiden mares, in which case they are blue hens) have produced stakes or better.

You should be okay with the paints - I don't think anyone is booked full.

On Appys, Alien Lasers was just retired and hypoing really well (plus he has a cool name). I sent several mares to him.

I hear you on QH sprints - I used some early, a few more last week, and had two blue hens left that I really couldn't send to anyone that I (i) liked and (ii) was still available. I broke down and used game point sires for those two, and am keeping several nice fillies in training rather than retire them. Easy Sixes is still available, but that didn't help me with the mares in question.

Thanks Laura! I just went through and mass bred the Paints. Usually I use the QH sprint stallions for my Paint sprinters but I went ahead and used the Paint stallions this time.

I had marked off Alien Lasers too but I don't hypo so I usually wait to see how they actually breeze and then race to try. I'll have to just give in this time around I guess.

I also gave in and bred most of those App mares to either Alien Lasers or two others I had tentatively marked off to check into later. Hopefully it works out.

Still totally stuck on the QHs though so if anyone can help I would be so appreciative!

Bigg Daddy can support all 3 distances and is cross breedable

The fact that he hypos flat A to most mares, available at all 3 distance and all 3 breeds, I figured he would go very quick so have kept his fee on the higher end for now so I didn't have to reserve them and show him as booked full all season.

I'm pretty much done breeding this season so I lowered his fee to 25K for the remainder of the season.

Good Luck

I love him for routers the most but does he definitely do well with sprinters?

He hasn’t been tested send him a hypo. I sent him a ton this season, didn’t have a chance to send to many last season. We will know in 2 days.

I was just giving you an option :)

Please feel free to send any mares you have to Alien Laser and then send me a lease for the fees!

Appy Sprinters are what I know and there's still some real nice ones such as Cabela Seven, Better Than Pat, Race to the Moon, and Count Cab.(moreso the latter 2).

Nikki, I love Easy Sixes and he's open. Stealin Easy Cash had a great first year last year and he has lots of spots. I also have a pretty good Chester Copperpot baby that I like...

Tooting my own horn, but I had Brigadoone nick A with quite a few of my own mares. Mezapita was featured at one point, but I've had similar nicks with Brigadoone.

I know this is late, and by the time Friday came around I just frantically grabbed whatever stallion I knew about, lol. But I will absolutely use these suggestions this year!!! Thank you so much!
