Solid As a Rock and Save My Country should both be definite to retire this year, just trying to get them to 350k
Money Run Low is possible to retire, but if he's still running as good as he has been he'll probably run at 6

Heartofsteel Grows Retired

Post by Jo Ferris »

Heartofsteel Grows "Steel" (Mark of the Beast x One In Every Crowd by Boone) has been retired and is standing for 5k. He earned $376,590 in 24 starts with 18 OTB finishes. He was a great runner, as evident in his final season winning 5 out of his 6 starts this year, but was incredibly frustrating since he only raced well in the mud. He was a strange one, had a great 2yo year, struggled at 3 and 4 then killed it at 5, was a bit sad to retire him because he did so well this year. He is the first Mark of the Beast colt to retire to stud

His Will To Live - Due to Pension

Post by Jo Ferris »

I wasn't saying anything all year, lol, but as always the SIM waits till I start to think maybe he'll make it to next year and then I get that message.

His Will to Live will be pensioned in 3 days once I extend him, I'm currently doing barn chores so I'll extend him when I get home in a few hours (barn time that is). He is the last mid/route distanced holiday stud remaining if I remember correctly

Got 2 new studs standing:
Fire Regressed - Paint Sprint, $3,500. I honestly don't have a lot of sprint mares, most are out on lease, but nicked with a couple, basically he looks to be a higher ranked second tier stud:
Chipped Green A- (Tri Distanced who's still best as a midder, but nicks A with Regression)
Free Prison Flight A
Name One Time A

Dashin Final - Paint Tri Distance, $3,500. My nicks are below, in a nutshell, he's second tier:
Chipped Green A (Tri Distanced)
Fld Ruby A+ (Mid)
Free Prison Flight A- (Sprint)
Keep Your Silver A- (Route)
Rabbit Brother A (Mid)
Tri Today B+ (Tri Distanced)

We Can Be Heros retires after the SC, keeping my fingers crossed for him considering his breeding. Mugello I'm on the fence about retiring, as of this minute I'm leaning towards racing him, Money Run Low is already standing stud and he seems to be running decent
Arabian:
Money Run Low - 7.5k
Cass Ole - 5k
Mugello - 5k
All I'll Praise - 5k
Zandvoort - 10k

Paint:
Toby Flenderson - 15k
One In The Woods - 5k
We Can Be Heros - 5k
FLD Eclipse - 3.5k
Scooter - 3.5k

We Can Be Heros Retired

Post by Jo Ferris »

We Can Be Heros is retired and standing for 5k. He's by Prequell and out of the SC winning mare Surprise Kiss (Gilmer). He capped off a hard knocking career with a 2nd in the SC. He was only out of the money twice in 31 starts, he placed OTB 24 times and earned over 600k. Very honest horse, always could rely on him to pick up a check even if he was competing with horses who were arguably far better than him.

Nicks:
Fadedcolorshow A+
Fld Ruby B+ (Mid)
Free Prison Flight B- (Sprint)
Humble Pie A
Life's Too Short A
Moody Princess A
Moody Queen A
Race to Survive A

Also, completely unrelated, I'm on the fence about Mugello. I was planning to retire him, but I have absolutely no mares for him and he already has a half brother at stud. Is there any interest in him? Would be willing to lease him out
Arabian:
Money Run Low - 7.5k
Cass Ole - 5k
Mugello - 5k
All I'll Praise - 5k
Zandvoort - 10k

Paint:
Toby Flenderson - 15k
One In The Woods - 5k
We Can Be Heros - 5k
FLD Eclipse - 3.5k
Scooter - 3.5k
