Breed to Stawickery Stable Paint Stallions - Maybe win $500,000

Post by Tammy Stawicki »

I want to try something new this year a contest where everyone gets a free breeding to one of my paint stallions and one lucky winner will get $500,000.

Here is how to enter:
Step 1. Breed to 1 of the Stawickery Stallion paint stallions (I'll list them below)
Step 2. Reply to this post about why you bred to that stallion

Everyone that enters will be eligible for 1 free breeding to one of my paint stallions next year (Y62). I will also add your name to a spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

At the end of the year I will pick a random number and whomevers name is in that row of the spreadsheet will get $500,000. You can get one entry into the 500,000 drawing for each of my paint stallions. However, you can only get 1 free breeding. You also need to breed to different stallions to get multiple entries.

So if you:
  • Breed 1 mare to Jacinth and post here why you bred to him you will get 1 free breeding next year and 1 entry to the $500,000 drawing
  • Breed 2 mares to Jacinth and post here why you bred to him you will get 1 free breeding next year and 1 entry to the $500,000 drawing
  • Breed 1 mare to Jacinth and 1 mare to Jersey. Post here why you bred to both of them. You will get 1 free breeding next year and 2 entries to the $500,000 drawing
A few additional rule notes
  • You do not need to use the same stallion for your entry and free breeding. So you can breed to Komati this year and use your free breeding on Lecythus next year
  • This is only for my paint stallions you cannot enter with or get a free breeding to Hempstead.
  • In addition to this I am still offering my regular full stud fee refund for graded stakes winning/producing mares and 50% refund for listed stakes winning/producing mares. Even if you get a stud fee refund on a mare this year you can still use that breeding as an entry/get a free breeding for any mare next year

Here are the stallions:
Paint Sprinters
Colored Spotlights - stud fee $22,000
Pensioning soon, but you can still use him if you breed to him before then. Holiday sire of way back when. Has sired 65 stakes winners including 5 Steward's Cup winners.

Jersey - stud fee $5,000
Colored Spotlight's 2nd highest earning son, one of those Steward's Cup winners and a 1/2 to millionaire Girona. I have a post going into more detail on his race record and pedigree here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=52664

Lecythus - Retiring Year 61 stud fee TBD
Steward's Cup winning earner of over $800,000. By holiday sire Mr. Rose Thorn out of millionaire Steward's Cup winner Acanthus. Also a 1/2 to 3 stakes winners.

Paint Middle Distance
Jacinth - stud fee $12,000
Has sired multiple stakes gallopers in his first 2 crops. Has 2 yearlings showing up on the top 50 400 yard yearling workout top horses list. He was also a Steward's Cup winner with a nice pedigree with his second dam being millionaire Steward's Cup winner/producer Synchrony. He can get A+ nicks with the right mare. You can read my post on him here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=52665

Komati - stud fee $6,000 (Tridistance potential)
To date, his racing success was at 400 yards but he did rate as versatile. He's by Son of a Grip out of a Heza Dasha Fire mare which is the same as Son of a Paint. He's a graded stakes winner. His dam and 2nd dam are both stakes winners. He has A nicks out of routers, middle distance and sprint mares and has had A+ nicks with middle-distance mares. You can read my post on him here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=53583

In my poorly bred paint barn, this pairing has garnered 3 consecutive allowance horses. Hoping for that one big payday as the last horrah for this pair.

Whoops, I keep forgetting about your fee refund incentives. I sent a couple mares to Colored Spotlights before he pensioned because he's a cool horse who keeps giving me nice things (see below), breeding colt-heavy this year in hopes of a future in-house stud and he seems promising for that purpose. Found out today one of my past CS babies improved to stakes and was scurrying to send the dam back to him for the third time but saw I was too late.

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1431063 this is the one who improved to stakes over the break
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1431064 twin to the above, was born stakes, so twin stakes are a great reason to come back

I'll probably revisit Jersey at some point as well, used him once because he seemed well-bred and cheap and got an allowance out of that so well worth the fee.

Bred to him because he hypos A+ with my mare and I think he's a really good bargain at that price :)

Bred 5 to Jacinth because he's such a good deal and a nice outcross.

(These 2 have stakes winning dams, how do I claim the 50% discount?)

Also bred 2 to Lecythus, including this stakes producer
https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1579206 (his sire had amazing success with her broodmare sire)

Lease me a random horse for however much I owe you in discounts mentioning why you are leasing me said horse. I'll lease it and then immediately terminate the lease.

The promotion is 50% off for any listed stakes winner or producer and 100% off a graded stakes winner or producer. Deal is good for any of my stallions so the stakes producer sent to Lecythus also qualifies.

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1579383& my paint herd is small but sent my prettiest mare to Lecythus, love a mixer stud who not only ran well but has a strong damline as well.

Intrigued by Komati but don't have a good mare for him just now. Will finish retiring things Saturday and see if I can rustle up something for him or Jacinth.

Colored Spotlights - The old boy has given me a number of nice runners over the years, had to have some last minute foals.

Jacinth - Love this guy's amazing pedigree

Lecythus - The super strong dam side puts him over the top for me, can't wait to see how my paints turn out.

Free Prison Flight to Lecythus, this foal is out of one of my best sprint mares, granted sprinters are my weak point. I had to send something to him his first season and she was literally the only seasoned sprinter broodmare I bred this year

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1564586
One With Fire to Komati, she's one of my first tri distance mares. My lone Komati yearling who has a pretty advanced multi distance bloodline on the dam side galloped allowance which I really couldn't have expected better from that particular mare.

https://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.ph ... ID=1597851 Very similar cross with Cowhide produced a stakes winner.
