But he will eventually, he's 14. And when he does, I will not be extending. What I have done is drop him down to 3.5k. He hasn't produced superstars, but he's surprisingly handy - my mares are varying degrees of mediocrity and he spits allowances all day long with them, sometimes a pleasant little stakes, he's got freaks to his name too (just not in my barn lol). You could try him with a nicer mare, or just send over your leftover ladies to spam colts! He's a great bargain! Just make sure you do it ASAP if you want to be certain of getting that bargain!
