Newbie milestones- what a month

Post by Kelly Haggerty »

August is shaping up to be a big month:

[*]I got my 100th start this past Friday
[*] Tonight is my very first gallop change. This is where I get to see if my Chip and Joanna Gaines "buy the worst horse in the best neighborhood" strategy pays off. I really hope it does, because demo day was messy!
[*] As of midnight I will officially be a 7-week old, meaning I am deemed responsible enough to breed mares. And to create them, but I am trying not to remember that little feature.
[*] I officially begin to roll out my barn's first carefully hand-prepped 2yo routers. I am sooooo super excited about this.

Here's hoping everyone has a month at least as exciting as mine- good luck all!

Just a recommendation from a more veteran player, don't spend money creating mares :D

I have been so warned. I'm going to put it out of my mind.

As one who is only 2 weeks old in the sim, I share your hope and expectations for the second half of the season.

[*] Earned just under $500k in race earnings, so on pace for my $1M year end target.
[*] Heavily invested in 2yr olds - 50 total 30 routers. Hoping for a big second half.
[*] Completed, I think, my first season of breeding. Tried to stay focused on a single area (not routers)
[*] Still looking for the elusive first stakes win

Hope everyone's second half is a good one. :)

A cheaper way to scratch the breeding itch is to check AJ for stock broodmares. People send stock Star and Blue Hen broodmares to Greener Pastures and you can pick them up for 5k each. The "Recommended" tab will list them for you.

If you bring up the Horses For Sale page and change the Type from "Sale" to "Game Owned" you can see all the AJ horses that are filtered by the Recommended limits.

I did. And I was a pretty good girl. Only bred 1 unpredictable.
