Don't see any way to do it. Is that a thing?

It's a thing, they can't be retired. They can only be automatically retired if they pick up a random career ending injury.

Wow, a double slap in the face. Spend a bunch of dough on your breedings only to have three quarters of them be basically useless and then be forced to hold them for a sim year. Yeah, I know you can pay 5K to make it disappear but that can add up. I suppose this helps in a way by keeping folks mindful of what they breed and avoids a giant group of bad horses littering the landscape. This year I was able to breed more and it was disappointing even though I used stakes winners and producers. I'm unsure if I want to continue doing that, I'll keep it small. Still, I'm having a ball in Alaska just playing the claim game. Guess I'll get most of my enjoyment there. Thanks, Carole.
