Crazy Turf Sprint Lady's SC Contest: Back for Y51

Post by Laura Smith »

After a year hiatus, the Crazy Turf Sprint Lady is once again running a big fancy contest. It's going to be much less complicated than the last one, but still have enough going on to be a shade more exciting than the average handicapping contest, imo.

The prize structure is different this year, so I don't need to take donations like I did last time, but if anyone wants to add cash to the pot, I certainly won't turn them down. I'm putting in $500k, which should make for a fine prize pool on its own should that be the case!

Anyway, get educated on your turf sprinters, cause the SC is coming up fast!

I'm not going to open this up until late next week at the earliest, but as SC entries will be fully open after tonight, I thought I'd let everyone in on the format and prize structure.

There will be a straight Pick 4 to start, with points awarded for selecting two or more winners.
For each race, you will be asked to pick three horses; points will be awarded if any of those horses finish first, second or third.
You will need to choose at least one of the four races for "triple or nothing." This means that your three selections for that race MUST finish first, second and third, in any order (like betting a tri box.) If they do, you get triple the points. If they don't, you get zero. So you'll have to decide which outcome you're most certain about. You can pick more than one race for triple-or-nothing if you're the risk-taking type.

Prize pool is at $1.5m, to be distributed through 10th place.
The lucky winner will also receive this. Ooh la la!

So, ya know, start reading up on those turf sprinters. ;)
