Hahhaa I do that because of my other horse game so much. I try to stick to themes on that game and one of my horses is Boy of the Fallen and then will use the name instead and cannot find Fall Out Boy music, and I too get very confused.Ash Tarasin wrote: ↑5 years ago The Sim in your everyday life:

Re: Official Random Crap Thread
Hope all of my fellow midwestern simsters are staying safe and warm today. My city is currently in a state of emergency until at least Thursday morning, we've gotten 12+ inches of snow and more on the way tonight and tomorrow, predicted to be another 1-6 inches (it's Michigan... it could also be sunny and 75, but not likely). It's "warm" today, about 25 for the high with no wind later on, this morning was crazy, even if they could've cleared the roads the snow was blowing right back, 20+mph winds and it was snowing so heavily there was really nothing they could do but say don't drive if you don't have to, just stay put. The two hospitals near me are both setting up rooms for doctors and nurses to stay in since they can't get home in this. It's nothing but cooling down for the next 2 days. Wednesday's gunna be a rough one, high of (right now) -5 (reminder, that's the high!) with 20-30mph winds, wind chills in the -20's to -30's for the high, low is -16, wind chills predicted to get as low as -40 to -50. Brrr, spring is sounding awful nice right now. Might be time to break out my third sweatshirt... Still don't own a coat. Too bad work doesn't give snow days... I'd be happy to curl up with my pups all day tomorrow and Wednesday

Had to say goodbye to this loving girl today, dogspeed Raven on your next steps to becoming a guide dog! No puppy coming home with me, need some funds before I can raise another, not exactly raking in an income to support my hobbies at the moment plus one of my pet dogs has had an eye issue that's cost about $120 so far with one more visit left. What's awesome is today FLD Raven retured to Leader Dogs, and today the SIM horse I named after her, FLD Raven won his stakes race.

Good job Jo, I really admire those that help raise service dogs. I would love to, but my husband is devastated each time we foster and I hate putting him (and myself) through that drama

Raven is a cutey : ) I'm sure who ever she ends up helping in life will love her and appreciate her. Sorry though that it's a bitter sweet thing for you.
On another note:
My older sister, a bit over a week ago, informed us that she thought she had a stroke and it turned out to be Bells Palsy which involves some nerves in around the ear and face area. During the tests to see what was exactly going on, a CAT scan showed a tumor pressing against the nerves just behind the area of her ear. But also, the scan showed a brain tumor.
Our dad died of cancer, having had 8 brain tumors and 30 body tumors. Needless to say my sister was terrified. But Friday, she was told that the tumor is non cancerous. I had this passed to me from my younger sister, so I'm still am not sure if the tumor in her brain is of any threat or not, but my older sister seemed pretty relieved according to my younger sister. It sounds like the doctors have told her it wasn't something to worry about... ??? My sister is a registered nurse, so I'm pretty sure, knowing her, she did some research before and after the visit and asked the priority question...is it dangerous. So, I'm hoping things will be ok with her here on out. The one behind the area of her ear...will probably have to be operated on...and that will take a specialist...given the tumor is right up against the nerve bundles that control that side of her face.
I'm just glad for my sister, that it's not a cancerous tumor. She just finished some long term breast cancer medication...she was found to have had breast cancer about 3 years ago, had a lump removed and some chemo...and then these pills she had to take since then. She just got off of them about 6 months ago..and was told no cancer was found, after some tests were run.

I'm totally hooked on raising leader dogs, Rave was my first, but I'm probably going to wind up being that crazy lady who's raised like 50 dogs. I've met so many nice dog crazed people and learned so much over the past year, can't wait to start over with my next puppy. I've got like 6 names picked out so I gotta do at least 6 more, lol, and that's just for femalesLeigh Ann Anderson wrote: ↑5 years ago Good job Jo, I really admire those that help raise service dogs. Beware the bait and switch: My ex husband had a brain tumor that they found around Christmas, was reassured it wasn't dangerous, and 48 hours later a neurosurgeon ran in the room screaming about how if they didn't remove it in 12 hours he'd be dead.Stormy Peak wrote: ↑5 years ago Our dad died of cancer, having had 8 brain tumors and 30 body tumors. It was removed, he will be fine, but who the heck was the first doctor and can I throw him off something?

My FIL died from a completely avoidable cancer scenario back in 2012. Instead of his family doctor referring him to an oncologist, he told him to go home and take ibuprofen. Well, he ended up shattering his leg because the cancer had weakened the bone, and when the bone shattered the cancer went everywhere. The Steward wrote: ↑5 years agoBeware the bait and switch: My ex husband had a brain tumor that they found around Christmas, was reassured it wasn't dangerous, and 48 hours later a neurosurgeon ran in the room screaming about how if they didn't remove it in 12 hours he'd be dead.Stormy Peak wrote: ↑5 years ago Our dad died of cancer, having had 8 brain tumors and 30 body tumors. Specialists at Duke said if the original doctor had referred him to a specialist from the beginning they could have removed the tumor, and the worst he would have had was a limp for the rest of his life.

Re: Official Random Crap Thread
Em, I am glad that the one doctor, at least found out in time.
Fanta, Sorry to hear about your Father in Law...so sad that, that happened.
My dad, when he went in to our hospital about the lump he felt in his back, was told he must have pulled a muscle...my dad told the doctor... No.. It's A Lump and I want it x rayed or something. They didn't want to do it because they wasn't sure if his insurance would cover it...x-rays just because the patient wanted one. Even when my dad told them he would pay right then and there for one they didn't want to do it. Then this older doctor knocked on the door and stuck his head in to say something to someone in the room and my dad who knew this doctor very well, told him he had a lump in his back and the other doctor just wanted to send him home on 3 days rest and some aspirin...and they wouldn't give him an x ray or any other tests to find out more about it.
The older doctor just shook his head and looked at the nurse and the other doctor and said, "If the man wants a Xray, give him an xray... I'll take it from here if you don't want to. The other doctor was ticked but ordered the x-rays...and thats when they found there about 30 tumors in his torso area. He went to Boise a few days later where more scans found the 8 brain tumors. He only lived about a month and a half after that, in spite of aggressive chemo and radiation treatments.
People do need to be pro-active when it comes to their health sometimes and be willing to argue with the doctors.
And, given those two stories, I will suggest and hope my sister gets a second opinion.
