Re: Official Random Crap Thread
So this is incredibly random, but I had a great conversation with one of my closest friends today about inner demons. I wanted to share a couple of thoughts that really struck me and that really made me think:
The first is a quote from Marley & Me of all things, “Dogs don’t care if you’re rich or poor; clever or dull; smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he will give you his.”
This struck me because it’s so true, dogs are such fantastic creatures because all they want from you is love that they can grow from and give back to you in return. Why are we as humans so obsessed with material things? I don’t know about you but I’ve certainly thought that I’d like to live a well loved dogs life, but really what’s stopping me from taking a part of that and implementing it into my own life?
And the second thought was to do with how we perceive ourselves, whether it be how we look; or how intelligent we are; how athletic; how clever etc.:
I suppose in a way, humans are incredibly self-centred by nature, we all think everyone has time to judge us and intensely scrutinise us, but the truth is they’re too pre-occupied doing that to themselves.
This came from a long train of thoughts relating to how everyone has thoughts about themselves that are cruel and vial, we are our harshest critics. But a lot of us, if not all of us, think that everyone else sees these thoughts in us, that if we think something like ‘My arms look chunky in this top’ everyone is thinking it too. But in reality, nobody really cares, and those that do only look for flaws in others in order to invalidate their own perceived flaws and that’s perhaps even more sad.
Anyway, extremely random I know but I just really wanted to share, please feel free to share a response if you have any thoughts on this, even if they contradict my ones! I move hearing different view points!

When your friend makes a turkey and you’re like I WANT ONE OF THOSE! So you mention it in passing to your MIL who is bringing you a care package after work (she works at a grocery store). She arrives on our doorstep with everything from our list...and a turkey LOL
I ask my friend how to make a turkey “oh! It’s easy! Just use X,Y,Z!” Yeah I don’t cook and have literally none of those things salt, pepper, garlic, and butter it is!

Rochella, that's enough spices to make a turkey.
In fact, you can just bake the turkey without spices and after it's cooked you can salt it to taste. Also, later, you can make turkey sandwiches using the butter, garlic, salt and some bread, or instead of butter, some mayo.

I have the worst PC luck on the planet. About 4 years ago, I bought a custom built gaming computer from IBUYPOWER... within 6 months, the motherboard died, so I was sent a new one, that one was already dead out of the box, got another one (different brand), that worked great for about 6 months and then hard drive died. So I was like 'THIS IS CURSED' and bought a brand new PC...
Now today, when this PC just about 1.5 years old, the hard drive dies. So yay me. WHy do i keep buying PCs?!
Oh and Im sorry Brian, your headshot was 99.9% done when it died.

So I should be entering horses, but instead, I'm reading the prequel to the Hunger Games. Taking a quick break from the book to go for a post-dinner walk with my husband, and then I'm getting back to reading.
