Re: Where do you live?
Hah, I used to ride my bike to work over the newest version of that bridge, and on windy days it didn't feel much better!!!!
When I moved here I got the 'earthquake safety packet' that said in the event of a major earthquake while you are on one of the Narrows Bridges, don't worry. The bridges will withstand almost anything nature can throw at them, but the ramps will not (apparently the weather expanders are the weak spot). So, if you are on the bridges in an earthquake, you should stop. Yeah, right, like that is going to happen...

LOL. That's actually pretty funny....nobody is going to stop on the Galloping Gertie during a 7.0 earthquake.
Sheesh, I wonder what their recommendation for the Viaduct is? Stay there and just die when it collapses?

From what I hear about viaduct traffic, you'll be stopped anyway.

Re: Where do you live?
I'm with Stormy - same state, but about 2 1/2 hours away. And that's IDAHO not IOWA, for you east-coasters. Think potatoes instead of corn and a bit further west.
I live in probably one of the most scenic areas of the US (although there isn't much else out here). For instance:
Grand Teton Mountains, Grand Teton National Park
About 65 miles as the crow flies
1h 45m drive (90 miles)
Because we're on a desert plain and everything is FLAT, you can see the peaks on a clear day from my window.
Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone National Park
About 95 miles as the crow flies
1h 50m drive to West Yellowstone entrance (110 miles)
And yes, the spring really IS that colorful in person. No Photoshop filters necessary here...

Trastevere, beautiful place.
But if hand-gliding/parachute sails, are the only ways to get down to the beach, from those cliffs, I'll Pass!

Re: Where do you live?
Thanks Louise.
Stormy there are many other ways, not so risky to get the beaches, but the most beautiful one is that we call "Bajada a los Baños por el Puente de los Suspiros". Something like "Down to the Beaches by the Sighs Bridge"

Many players live in some amazing locations!
I love my city (only in summer!)
They put it this way in the winter:
But the reality is this:
