PERSONAL

What is your player name in the game? Elle Frost

Is your player name different from your real life name? Yes

How old are you? 29

What is your highest level of education? Graduate student, graduating May 2018

What is/was your occupation? Healthcare and education; Case manager at high-school for pregnant/parenting teens, gender ed teacher

Want to tell us a little about your family? Single. No kids. My mother is mentally ill and made growing up pretty damn miserable. She cut off contact with me and my two younger brothers 5 or so years ago. It can be really really hard to not have a mom, even as an adult as dumb as that is, so that has always been a hard thing in my life. I am also adopted, reunited with biofamily in 2009 but that wasn't a positive experience either. I think I spent a lot of time wondering how it is I had two chances to have a mother and neither really cared enough to give a damn. Anyway, my dad is legit. He lives in Florida so we don't see each other much. I have two younger brothers I was raised with and then 5 bio siblings(1 full older sibling, 4 younger half-siblings)I was not raised with but have relationships with now as an adult.

Where do you live? Seattle-->Phoenix

Any hobbies or passions, beyond SIM, that you want to share? Horse racing, reading, documentaries, hiking, weight lifting

What have you done in your life that you’re the most proud of, or that makes you feel the most joyous? Education, took a lot to get here and I still cannot believe I made it here

What is your most outstanding personal trait? Sense of humor, I spend far too much of my life laughing or making people laugh. I am too blunt and don't give a f***. Oh, I am an INFJ, which is apparently rare?

REAL LIFE HORSES/HORSE RACING

Are you a racing fan or are/have otherwise been involved in horse racing? Fan, no other involvement

Have you met any famous racehorses up close? No :(

What’s the greatest race(s) you’ve ever attended, or is otherwise the most memorable that you attended? Longacres Mile

Do you have a favorite racehorse(s)? Cigar, that horse made me fall in love with racing. I remember using my allowance money to buy newspapers with articles or pictures of him, then saving for months to get the Cigar Breyer. Still treasure that damn thing and out of the hundreds of Breyers I sold off for college money, that is the only one I will never get rid of. Zenyatta, Ruffian, Lava Man, Stryker PhD(legend in the PNW), Havre de Grace, Rachel Alexandra, Songbird and of course Secretariat. Oh and Medaglia d'Oro, good racehorse but I LOVE his babies that have gone on to second careers or never made it to the track, beautiful movers and build. Of course, he has at least two fillies thus far that have been at the top of their game...fingers are crossed for the new Zenyatta filly.

If you aren’t a fan of horse racing, what made you want to play the SIM?

If you weren’t a fan of horse racing when you joined the SIM, have you become interested in the sport since you started playing?

Are you/have you been involved in other equine activities? My mom raised Tennessee Walkers so I grew up on a farm. I showed hunter/jumper and some dressage before my mare passed away in 2011. Haven't had a horse since, maybe one day.

SIM
What game year did you join the SIM? Year 40

What are the things that you particularly enjoy about the SIM? I like having a downtime activity

Do you have a specific goal in mind? Just have fun

Do you feel you have a particular knack in the game? Haha, no

What do you find most frustrating about the game? Sometimes I feel stagnant but I still have fun

What is your overall feeling about changes in the game, over the time you’ve been a player? So far, so good

What breed/distance/surface divisions do you play? Do you intend to get involved in additional ones, or drop any? Standardbred Pacer/Trotter, Turf

Do you have a favorite division? Turf Milers

Is there a particular horse that you feel was the key to your success in SIM? When I first started someone gifted me an older SB gelding(D'Light) who taught me the ropes at Trial Park

...and this is me last Fall...

What is your most outstanding personal trait? I'm a great listener.

REAL LIFE HORSES/HORSE RACING

Are you a racing fan or are/have otherwise been involved in horse racing? I have watched the triple crown races for many years now.

Have you met any famous racehorses up close? No, but I'd love to meet American Pharoah and California Chrome!

What’s the greatest race(s) you’ve ever attended, or is otherwise the most memorable that you attended? I've only watched them on television.

Do you have a favorite racehorse(s)? Secretariat and American Pharoah.

Are you/have you been involved in other equine activities? I rode horses for many years, but honestly, I enjoyed them more than they enjoyed me, I think!

SIM
What are the things that you particularly enjoy about the SIM? I love looking at the horses for sale, and I'm enjoying looking at pedigrees and how other players work their horses before races.

Do you have a specific goal in mind? I would like to have five good allowance runners for now, and eventually, I'd love to think I could race a few stakes winners.

Do you feel you have a particular knack in the game? No, not yet

What do you find most frustrating about the game? Losing races and running out of money.

What is your player name in the game? (If different from your forum name, what name should one look for if they want to sent you an in-game message?) Amy Bahama

Is your player name different from your real life name? Half of it 😊

How old are you? 43

What is your highest level of education? BA

What is/was your occupation? Mobile Device Management Administrator

Want to tell us a little about your family? I am married to the most amazing man and we have two Australian Cattle Dogs and 2 old Chihuahuas and a tabby cat.

Where do you live? I live in Breezewood, Pennsylvania.

Any hobbies or passions, beyond SIM, that you want to share? Traveling with my husband in our old 1996 Dodge Ram Van across the country, cruising, spending time at our camp at Raystown Lake in PA and boating, Australian Cattle Dog Rescue, volunteering at local fire company as an auxiliary member.

What have you done in your life that you’re the most proud of, or that makes you feel the most joyous? I really am proud of my involvement with the Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association and training my own cattle dogs.

What is your most outstanding personal trait? I am very blunt and direct. I don’t know that that is outstanding, but it’s probably what I am best known for.

REAL LIFE HORSES/HORSE RACING

Are you a racing fan or are/have otherwise been involved in horse racing? I am just a casual fan.

Have you met any famous racehorses up close? Arch Arch Arch thanks to my brother from another mother, Leonard Beagle.

What’s the greatest race(s) you’ve ever attended, or is otherwise the most memorable that you attended? BC at Churchill when Blame beat Zenyatta and the Arkansas Derby with Leonard Beagle.

Do you have a favorite racehorse(s)? Snow Chief got it started for me.

If you aren’t a fan of horse racing, what made you want to play the SIM? I am a fan.

If you weren’t a fan of horse racing when you joined the SIM, have you become interested in the sport since you started playing? I’ve always been a fan but became more so when I joined the sim.

Are you/have you been involved in other equine activities? I had a pony when I was 5, but I was deathly allergic and didn’t have it long.

SIM
What game year did you join the SIM? Year 16

What are the things that you particularly enjoy about the SIM? I’ve gotten to make a handful of real friends. We’ve shared a lot together, good news and bad. I like seeing their kids grow up and I grieve with them when their parents pass. I like connecting with them over music and laughs on facebook. Those connections are pretty awesome. Shout out to AR, DK, LeoB, LS and LF!

Do you have a specific goal in mind? Dominate QHs. I’m far from it because I don’t run a big stable. I have a very small boutique stable. I keep nothing but sentimental favorites, stakes and freaks or blue hens in the shed.

Do you feel you have a particular knack in the game? I have a knack of failing at race placement and a knack for poor stallion management, but I’ve come a long way thanks to the Assistant Trainer.

What do you find most frustrating about the game? The constant tweaks to the slide of whether a horse is freak, stakes, allowance, etc., the stallion book limits and the popularity contest format of the simmys.

What is your overall feeling about changes in the game, over the time you’ve been a player? The changes have been mostly good for the development of the game. I only have issue with the above mentioned.

What breed/distance/surface divisions do you play? Do you intend to get involved in additional ones, or drop any? Typically I am a QH sprint or mid house, but I’ve branched out and acquired more steward breds of the TB variety that span across all sorts of fields.

Do you have a favorite division? QH Dirt Sprint

Is there a particular horse that you feel was the key to your success in SIM? I’ve had many. Snake, Untamed, Prophet, most recently San Patricio and now Buljoos.

Is there a particular race you’ve won that you were particularly proud or gratified to win? All of my SC races.

If you’ve thought about leaving the game (or have left and returned), what makes you stay, or prompted you to return? I’m addicted so I’ve not ever completely left. I did cut way back though and now have some wonderful help.

What do you think other players would be the most surprised to know about you as a player? I’ve won 20 SC races, the Arc, a Pegasus race, but never a triple crown race.

What do you want most from the SIM? I really don’t want anything from the SIM. It has become almost a habit. When I am at work at the computer I’ve probably had a SIM Tab open since I started playing in 2006. It is a hard habit to break and always has me coming back for more at some level of involvement. Thank god for Assistant Trainers, though. Especially mine!

I must have missed this thread. Wow. I will submit this to avoid unnecessary breeding.

PERSONAL

What is your player name in the game? (If different from your forum name, what name should one look for if they want to sent you an in-game message?)
Polk Buffalo

Is your player name different from your real life name?
Yes. My first name is Niklas. Polk was a wooden troll when I was 4 years old.

How old are you?
45

What is your highest level of education?
I am unsure about what levels are called in english, see next question.

What is/was your occupation?
Specialist in general medicine. General Practitioner.

Want to tell us a little about your family?
Married to Flizan Hambletonian (Liza), 4 year old son Linus.

Where do you live?
We live in a country house (now that is a good stallion too) in a village called Tjuvkil (Thief's wedge)

Any hobbies or passions, beyond SIM, that you want to share?
I used to play golf a lot when I was younger. Used to have hcp 6.Before the SIM I was playing Entropia Universe (Real Cash Economy sandbox game). Now it is mostly watching spongebob squarepants with my son.

What have you done in your life that you’re the most proud of, or that makes you feel the most joyous?
Our son Linus. He is the best.

What is your most outstanding personal trait?
I like to sleep in the mornings. I have convinced work that 8 am is no time to start work, so I start 8.30 am.
I don't own a calender and if I forgot my smartphone at work on friday afternoon, I leave it there cause I am too afraid to set off the alarm at work.
I guess that I can live for two days without checking my phone is unusual.

REAL LIFE HORSES/HORSE RACING

Are you a racing fan or are/have otherwise been involved in horse racing?
Not really. I watched a gallop race for the first time two months ago. Liza was the veterinarian. I have seen trotterraces a handful of times.

Have you met any famous racehorses up close?
No.

What’s the greatest race(s) you’ve ever attended, or is otherwise the most memorable that you attended?
Pony Trotter races in Gothenburg. The speaker was excellent. "Get your hands up from your pockets folks, and here they come"
I have never seen a starting gate being used.

Do you have a favorite racehorse(s)?
I watched some clips of sunday silence and deep impact via a link from the steward thread. I would vote for them.

If you aren’t a fan of horse racing, what made you want to play the SIM?
Got tired of Entropia Universe. I am so bad at player versus player shooting games. I like slower games better. This game is slower.

If you weren’t a fan of horse racing when you joined the SIM, have you become interested in the sport since you started playing?
A little bit. I sat up on a horse in Morocco once during a school trip. I think horses are a little scary. I can pat Flizans horse sometimes, but he is to big to sit on according to me. I have tried to understand breeding a bit more.

Are you/have you been involved in other equine activities?
Wife is a horse vet. I have been a horse vet assistant :)

SIM
What game year did you join the SIM?
Y47W15

What are the things that you particularly enjoy about the SIM?
It is slow, investing lots of real cash is not necessary to get success, great community and the Steward.

Do you have a specific goal in mind?
Win a stewards cup race. - Accomplished in Y52.
Own a TB Freak. - Still waiting.
Have a good stallion in every division - I have a stallion is almost every division but I lack the "good".

Do you feel you have a particular knack in the game?
Arab dirt Routers will be my cup of tea soon.

What do you find most frustrating about the game?
All those claimers that are so hard to get rid of.

What is your overall feeling about changes in the game, over the time you’ve been a player?
I think there has been some rather big changes last years in gallop comments. Mostly good changes, but sometimes it is tricky to know if a stakes is a stakes by the old standard or the new standard. Last change when all horses were autoregalloped is better.

What breed/distance/surface divisions do you play? Do you intend to get involved in additional ones, or drop any?
I want it all. I am still trying to figure out what breed/distance I like the best.
Will probably drop trotters.

Do you have a favorite division?
Arab routers and QH mid (since I discovered the all american trail)

Is there a particular horse that you feel was the key to your success in SIM?
Perhaps JR Lewis getting rid of his Trial Park horses at 1$ each. That got my (rather big) barn started.

Is there a particular race you’ve won that you were particularly proud or gratified to win?
The QH mid 2 year old filly Stewards Cup. My stakes horse won even if the had an awkward start.
and 5 days ago "so come find me" won the magellan stakes with a speed figure of 97. She will be interesting.

If you’ve thought about leaving the game (or have left and returned), what makes you stay, or prompted you to return?
Never thought about leaving this great game.

What do you think other players would be the most surprised to know about you as a player?
That I spent more than 10 millions in breeding this year and still run those fillers to earn an extra 840$. Oh wait, they already know that.
That I got up 3 nights during steward cup week just to listen to the broadcast at 4 am. before going to work. That was not wise.

What do you want most from the SIM?
More stewards cup wins. I like Reginas idea of having a grade one winner in every single division.
Polk Buffalo Stallions
Yoboki Arabian Router 40k
Blue Daub Adee Appy Mid 20k

and many more...

Since this popped up again, I thought I'd do it, too.

PERSONAL

What is your player name in the game? (If different from your forum name, what name should one look for if they want to sent you an in-game message?)
It's the same

Is your player name different from your real life name?
No, just missing my second name

How old are you?
20

What is your highest level of education?
Just started studiyng forestry, if I pass I'll have Bachelor of Science.

Want to tell us a little about your family?
Lovely parents. Also an older brother, we always mock each other but are pretty close. All of them love/ play/ have played soccer, my mother even in Germany's national team, and all of them were/ are involved somehow in real estate. I watch "our" soccer team, too, but otherwise I'm the odd one out there :D

Where do you live?
I'm from northern Germany, just moved to the center of it (Thueringen)

Any hobbies or passions, beyond SIM, that you want to share?
Been riding since I was 4 years old, discovered my passion for classical dressage during the last two years when I finally met a great trainer. Unfortunately had to stop now due to studies.
Other than that I write poems and enjoy taking long walks alone in the woods to get my head clear. I am a big Alice in Chains fan and during the last two seasons have developed a passion for American Football for some reason :)

What have you done in your life that you’re the most proud of, or that makes you feel the most joyous?
The greatest feeling was gaining the trust of two super sensitive horses that had been traumatized in the past. With the first one (Maretta, a small Welsh mare) I was galloping through the woods bareback having only a halter on by the end. I think I've never felt more free in my life. The other one was Sharino.

What is your most outstanding personal trait?
Hm, I guess that I can be really quiet at first, but once someone gains my trust I'd literally do anything for them

REAL LIFE HORSES/HORSE RACING

Are you a racing fan or are/have otherwise been involved in horse racing?
Just a fan, sadly never been to the races. My best friend wanted to gift me a surprise trip for my birthday once and then the races were cancelled that day, lol.

Have you met any famous racehorses up close?
Sadly, no

Do you have a favorite racehorse(s)?
I read about Ruffians story on a random blog on the internet one day and that got me interested in racing. So she'll always be my favorite. When I started following the active horses I fell in love with Shared Belief. I always told myself I didn't really know whether I liked him or California Chrome better but once they entered the stretch of the San Antonio I knew, lol. Cried myself to sleep when I found out he died and lost a lot of interest in racing after that :(

SIM
What game year did you join the SIM?
Y38

What are the things that you particularly enjoy about the SIM?
When I have an outsider in a stakes race that I know is going to do well, but others are probably surprised about, haha

Do you have a specific goal in mind?
Breeding a G1 caliber TB... Or race any SC caliber TB

Do you feel you have a particular knack in the game?
I'd say I'm pretty good at race placement and therefore keeping good stats

What do you find most frustrating about the game?
Retiring Mixer stallions. And also my Appy Mids. Except for Zippo Factor they have always finished close second place in the G1s they entered. It's just them and driving me crazy, lol

What breed/distance/surface divisions do you play? Do you intend to get involved in additional ones, or drop any?
Pretty much all except QHs. Some of them kind of went extinct in my barn though when the mares I retired weren't good enough and since I wasn't expanding the last few years I just let it happen.

Do you have a favorite division?
My Arabian Sprinters. They gave me the most G1s so far and since I adore Arabians in real life they were always treated as a priority once I discovered them.

Is there a particular horse that you feel was the key to your success in SIM?

Not really, I had a few really nice auction (I think dispersal) grabs for a couple thousands that got me into stakes company, and from then it was steady improvement.

Is there a particular race you’ve won that you were particularly proud or gratified to win?
Um, I guess my first G1 (took me 11 Sim years, lol)

If you’ve thought about leaving the game (or have left and returned), what makes you stay, or prompted you to return?
I thought about leaving a lot lately, but then I have invested so much time and there's still so much I haven't been able to accomplish. I guess it's mostly the hope that your great horse might be just around the corner and a big win can pick you up so much even if you had a bad day.

What do you think other players would be the most surprised to know about you as a player?
Huh, I don't know, you'd have to tell me, lol. I don't think there's anything "surprising" about me.

Would you like to share a photo of yourself?
I don't have many.. But to keep things horse-related this is me walking the kindest stallion I've ever met (Sharino's sire) to a dressage lesson... I was quite happy to ride him :D

Yes, it is different! (Alana Jones-friend me on Facebook if you want!)

How old are you?
54 (yikes)

What is your highest level of education?
B.A./18 hours towards a Master's degree

Want to tell us a little about your family?
My two wonderful parents are 85 years old, and I'm very lucky to still have them around. I love spending time with them. They are not in the best of health right now, so every moment is special.

Where do you live?
I live in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina.

Any hobbies or passions, beyond SIM, that you want to share?
I love reading and watching good mystery thrillers.

What have you done in your life that you’re the most proud of, or that makes you feel the most joyous?
I really enjoy my job as a Special Education teacher and caring for students who have severe learning and emotional disabilities.

What is your most outstanding personal trait?
I love to laugh. I can also be brutally honest.

REAL LIFE HORSES/HORSE RACING

Are you a racing fan or are/have otherwise been involved in horse racing?
I'm a fan.

Have you met any famous racehorses up close?
No.

Do you have a favorite racehorse(s)?
I have listed them on my profile page, but honestly, there are too many to name!

SIM
What game year did you join the SIM?
Y47, I think.

What are the things that you particularly enjoy about the SIM?
I enjoy everything, really.

Do you have a specific goal in mind?
I have several.

Do you feel you have a particular knack in the game?
My win percent has stayed pretty consistent over the last few game years, and I'm continuing to work on this. (and the OTB)

What do you find most frustrating about the game?
Having stakes gallopers who do best at claims races! (also, the equipment)

Do you have a favorite division?
Dirt sprinters.

Is there a particular horse that you feel was the key to your success in SIM?
If Love Could, gifted to me by Nick Gilmore when he was a yearling, has given me hope of getting some really good offspring.

If you’ve thought about leaving the game (or have left and returned), what makes you stay, or prompted you to return?
I think about leaving all the time, but I enjoy the challenges, and I have not yet met some major goals, so I'll be here for awhile.

What do you think other players would be the most surprised to know about you as a player?
I was a radio announcer for several years and loved it!

Would you like to share a photo of yourself?
I hate having my picture taken, but I do have some on Facebook! See ya there!

Ah, why not! Let's do this thang.

PERSONAL

What is your player name in the game? (If different from your forum name, what name should one look for if they want to sent you an in-game message?)
Same: Lily Wilkins

Is your player name different from your real life name?
Nope.

How old are you?
25

What is your highest level of education?
I have a Bachelor's of Science in Biology and a Bachelor's of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of Washington.

Want to tell us a little about your family?
I am an (spoiled) only child with the best parents, and extended family, in the world. My mom is my heart human though <3

Where do you live?

I live about 30 minutes (on an ideal day with no traffic) North of Seattle in Everett, WA

Any hobbies or passions, beyond SIM, that you want to share?
I am a pretty avid gamer in general; Red Dead Redemption II is my current go-to game. I also draw, and collect model horses. The crown jewel of my model horse collection is Breyer's Third Times A Charm; he was a limited run of 350 from 2001 and I searched for one for TEN years. One finally came on the market about a month ago and I snagged him. I have never spent $500 so quickly in my entire life

What have you done in your life that you’re the most proud of, or that makes you feel the most joyous?
My two college degrees are by far the best thing I have ever done for myself. I was also a fashion model in the Seattle area while I was in college; it was a stupendous way to pay my bills, and was SO FUN!!! Nothing beats walking down the runway and having everyone looking at YOU!

What is your most outstanding personal trait?
Physical: My hair. It is long, thick, and fiery!
Personality-wise: My integrity. I pride myself on being honest and dependable. You can trust me with any secret.

REAL LIFE HORSES/HORSE RACING

Are you a racing fan or are/have otherwise been involved in horse racing?

*nerdy lisp* I'm a shuper fan, hehe!
No, seriously. I live and breathe horse racing. I cry when I get to meet my favorite horses... It's sooo embarrassing but my mom and fiance think it's hilarious.

Have you met any famous racehorses up close?
Silver Charm, Orb, War Front, Lookin At Lucky, American Pharoah, War Emblem, Air Force Blue

Do you have a favorite racehorse(s)?
Zenyatta <3 she was simply tantalizing to watch!

SIM

What game year did you join the SIM?
Y30

What are the things that you particularly enjoy about the SIM?
The realism is unparalleled.

Do you have a specific goal in mind?
I would like to win a Thoroughbred Steward's Cup race with a horse I own.

Do you feel you have a particular knack in the game?
Sucking at everything ;) haha

What do you find most frustrating about the game?
The same thing that makes the game great: the realism!!! waiting two weeks in between races with my favorite horses... And the fact that it's not all A+B=C.. Freaks can suck, and Blue Hen mares can throw nags.

What breed/distance/surface divisions do you play? Do you intend to get involved in additional ones, or drop any?
So far, I have found the most success with Standardbred Trotters, but I recently decided to drop them and go BIG... Dirt Router Thoroughbreds are my next project.

Do you have a favorite division?
TB Dirt Routers, even though i'm not competitive.

Is there a particular horse that you feel was the key to your success in SIM?
Kind of? Someone Like You could have been that horse, but I stupidly sold her daughter that I bred. Ooops. Castle Call was fun, too.

Is there a particular race you’ve won that you were particularly proud or gratified to win?
The Emotonian with Castle Call will forever be etched in my memory as one of my proudest moments on this game.

If you’ve thought about leaving the game (or have left and returned), what makes you stay, or prompted you to return?
There truly is no other horse racing game out there like this one. It's THE BEST.

What do you think other players would be the most surprised to know about you as a player?
I keep to myself a lot but I am actually super friendly and would LOVE to start cultivating a group of SIM friends.

Would you like to share a photo of yourself?

Nope! I tried by there was tiny bleh about me and another player who picked the same fake last name when he joined.

How old are you?
32! June 12 1987 :)

What is your highest level of education?
I went to a technical college for Web and Graphic Design.

What is/was your occupation?
Stay at Home Mom. As well as owner of a small home business where I sell LEGO pieces online.

Want to tell us a little about your family?
I met my husband Collyn while working at The LEGO Store! We knew it was the life long kind of relationship almost right away, and we’re still all gross and in love 5 (??) years later. We had our son Tobias pretty quick for some standards, but we were both ready to start our family right meow, and he can be such a sweet boy. Just before he was a year old we got married! Our wedding was at an indoor playground with pizza, ice cream sundaes, and board games for those who didn’t want to play in the playground part, the dress code was PJs and my husband and I wore onesies! Then came baby #2! Isabelle, she’s the light of my life, and so full of joy.

Where do you live?
Alberta, Canada

Any hobbies or passions, beyond SIM, that you want to share?
I love horses, photography, and camping, but don’t make a lot of time to do them unfortunately. I also love reading, I need to read more

What have you done in your life that you’re the most proud of, or that makes you feel the most joyous?
I made two tiny humans!

What is your most outstanding personal trait?
I’m loyal to everyone, to a fault, until they give me a reason not to be...then you better watch out lol

REAL LIFE HORSES/HORSE RACING

Are you a racing fan or are/have otherwise been involved in horse racing?
Until joint the game no, but this last year I joined a local racing club and got to take part in an amazing year of racing. This is the first year they’ve had a horse that they could run in stakes races! She’s run in two, the first she came in second by a nose (she just needed a little longer!) and the second stakes she flew to BC for and came in third!

Have you met any famous racehorses up close?
Just my club horses 😂 does famous to me count?

What’s the greatest race(s) you’ve ever attended, or is otherwise the most memorable that you attended?
My second time going to The Canadian Derby, I was SO pregnant with my son, but we both dressed up, I got a nice hat, and I made back all my betting money for the day by picking a longshot. My strategic method of betting based on names paid off that day haha

Do you have a favorite racehorse(s)?
I love Winx, she is a monster!

If you aren’t a fan of horse racing, what made you want to play the SIM?
It was recommended to me by a friend who I played another non-automated SIM with, I was falling behind all the time and it was very stressful with a 1yo and being pregnant while trying to keep up with it. SIMhorseracing allowed me to get my horse fix without so much work!

If you weren’t a fan of horse racing when you joined the SIM, have you become interested in the sport since you started playing?
Yes! I joined the year Justify won the TC, and that’s all she wrote lol I plan to join the racing club again next year ❤️

Are you/have you been involved in other equine activities?
Yes! Up until I decided to sell my horses do to financial reasons, I’d been riding since I was 12(?). I’ve done jumper, hunters, barrel racing, western pleasure. I’d currently love nothing more than to try Dressage and Cross Country (Maybe just commit and go full Eventing!) once my financial situation stabilizes I hope I can do just that.

SIM
What game year did you join the SIM?
Y50

What are the things that you particularly enjoy about the SIM?
Breeding! I love puzzles, and to me it’s just a mysterious puzzle that just keeps disappointing haha I have to figure it out!

Do you have a specific goal in mind?
Lol where do I begin?! My Profile Notes section is full of goals :D probably the biggest is to bread something that runs nice regularly, none of this 1st, 6th, 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 8th baloney lol

Do you feel you have a particular knack in the game?
I want to say that I do, but also, does anyone really?

What do you find most frustrating about the game?
Horses that can’t decide if they are fancy or not

What is your overall feeling about changes in the game, over the time you’ve been a player?
Love it, usually it’s hard at the time, but the changes are made for the better

What breed/distance/surface divisions do you play? Do you intend to get involved in additional ones, or drop any?
Chaser, TS, TM, TR, DS, DR, Paints. My favourites are by far my TS, TM, and DR. I’m only breeding DS until I can win a 2yo Sprint Championship trophy, it’s my favourite trophy art in the game 😅 I was close this year, my filly came in 3rd!

Do you have a favorite division?
Whoops! TS, TM, and DR!

Is there a particular horse that you feel was the key to your success in SIM?
Not yet, although maybe? “he who must not be named” gave me a taste of what it is to win with a fancy horse, but also the drama around him has almost made me quite the SIM a couple times. Now he just sits in my barn and makes some money, which is hopefully helping me get further in other divisions.

Is there a particular race you’ve won that you were particularly proud or gratified to win?
“He who must not be named” won the Steeplechase SC before I retired him, that was VERY a exciting, but people also don’t view steeplechasers as high as TBs, or even mixers. They are kinda the bottom of the totem pole, so that takes away from it a little.

If you’ve thought about leaving the game (or have left and returned), what makes you stay, or prompted you to return?
My friends! They can always calm me down and help me focus on the things that matter. The phrase “Just play your game and don’t worry about anyone else is doing or saying” has gotten me through SO many hard days.

What do you think other players would be the most surprised to know about you as a player?
I dunno, I like to think I’m an open book...OH hahaha I guess the fact that I am SUPER shy and quiet in real life, since I AM so open in the SIM 😂 I have 1 RL friend, because I find talking with people exhausting.

What do you want most from the SIM?
A fun time with friends ☺️

Would you like to share a photo of yourself?
I wonder if I even have a recent one 😅
Let’s go with this one from years ago of me on my old gelding, I tried to look for a more recent one but no dice 🤷‍♀️

Masters

Naps! I #### love naps!!!

What have you done in your life that you’re the most proud of, or that makes you feel the most joyous?
A son that I have not ruined.

What is your most outstanding personal trait?
Loyal. And good with seeing multiple perspectives in tough situations.

REAL LIFE HORSES/HORSE RACING

Are you a racing fan or are/have otherwise been involved in horse racing?
Yes a fan. Maternal grandparents were trainers ages ago. So I spent a fair amount of weekends on the backside of tracks around the plains and midwest when I was young. Aksarben, Canterbury, Remington and a bunch of bull rings.

Have you met any famous racehorses up close?
No not any famous ones that anyone here would recognize. And I don't have the urge to meet the Justifys.

What’s the greatest race(s) you’ve ever attended, or is otherwise the most memorable that you attended?
I went to the Derby a few years ago as a bucket list thing. The memory is generally blah.

Do you have a favorite racehorse(s)?
For famous ones I've always loved watching Zenyatta run. First racehorse that I fell in love with was a horse named Blazing Rider when I was young, 4f bull ring specialist.

If you aren’t a fan of horse racing, what made you want to play the SIM?
I think I came across it in a HR'ing sim search. I've played and enjoyed several others.

If you weren’t a fan of horse racing when you joined the SIM, have you become interested in the sport since you started playing?
In regards to RL racing... Maybe less? Love the animals, but the humans involved aren't always of the highest character.

Are you/have you been involved in other equine activities?
Grew up on a farm so there were plenty of animals, including a couple horsies.

SIM
What game year did you join the SIM?
49? I made an account and forgot about it. After a site mail a few weeks later I came back and started playing. Which would of been early 50?

What are the things that you particularly enjoy about the SIM?
Winning a race. Any race.

Do you have a specific goal in mind?
Winning a SC. Any SC, I'm not fancy.

Do you feel you have a particular knack in the game?
Not really. I'm all over the place.

What do you find most frustrating about the game?
Suckups. Never been able to stand them.

What is your overall feeling about changes in the game, over the time you’ve been a player?
It's nice to be able to have a more specific or accurate gallop rating. But having a young freak bump down to stakes is always a gut punch.

What breed/distance/surface divisions do you play? Do you intend to get involved in additional ones, or drop any?
My strongest and most consistent breeding has been in the DR Arabians. I bred a DR thoro freak filly last season so I'm excited about her.

Do you have a favorite division?
I'm open to any division that I can get a win in.

Is there a particular horse that you feel was the key to your success in SIM?
Too early in my sim life for that.

Is there a particular race you’ve won that you were particularly proud or gratified to win?
I won a grade 1 this last season with a homebred mixer.

If you’ve thought about leaving the game (or have left and returned), what makes you stay, or prompted you to return?
I tend to work a lot of hours & I enjoy hikes after work. So I missed the first half of season 52 because I just didn't have the time. But yes when I get wrapped up in work I try to think of ways to shrink the barn. But with costs added to retirement last season it's just super difficult to cut things back in a financially sane way.

What do you think other players would be the most surprised to know about you as a player?
The Steward loves me. Wait she loves everybody. #### it!

What do you want most from the SIM?
a ###ing SC win. And all of your G1 victories to show up when someone clicks on your profile. Wait, is that a part of sim8.0?

Would you like to share a photo of yourself?
No. Nobody wants to see this.

Zenyatta, Giacomo, Tiago, Silver Charm, Cavonnier, Midnight Aria

If you aren’t a fan of horse racing, what made you want to play the SIM?
Oh gawd I would never play the SIM.

If you weren’t a fan of horse racing when you joined the SIM, have you become interested in the sport since you started playing?
Sometimes when something awful happens and I lose a horse I loved or worked with I want to quit the sport, but figure I can't if I'm going to keep running the SIM.

Are you/have you been involved in other equine activities?
I do dressage and hunter/jumper but not since I got hurt.

Everyone thinks I "hate" Steeplechasing or Quarter Horses or All Weather, but really I have horses I follow and enjoy in all those divisions too

What do you want most from the SIM?
Live streaming video with round the clock simulcast hosts
I had to laugh at my answers from three years ago, because other than my age (34 now) and my kids' ages (about to be 6), I literally would say nothing differently!

PERSONAL

What is your player name in the game? (If different from your forum name, what name should one look for if they want to sent you an in-game message?) Eric Hamme

Is your player name different from your real life name? It's the same.

How old are you? 34

What is your highest level of education? BS in Accounting

What is/was your occupation? Government auditor

Want to tell us a little about your family? I have one

Where do you live? In the DC area. My "home track" is Laurel Park.

Any hobbies or passions, beyond SIM, that you want to share? Love baseball and especially car racing (IndyCar specifically, NASCAR is what I watch when I'm bored). I also maintain the contradiction of being active in the Sons of the American Legion and the ACLU.

What have you done in your life that you’re the most proud of, or that makes you feel the most joyous? I dunno

What is your most outstanding personal trait? I dunno

REAL LIFE HORSES/HORSE RACING

Are you a racing fan or are/have otherwise been involved in horse racing? I'm a fan in that I enjoy watching and gambling on it, even though I am bad at the latter.

Have you met any famous racehorses up close? No

What’s the greatest race(s) you’ve ever attended, or is otherwise the most memorable that you attended? Chrome's Preakness (It's the biggest race I've ever been to in person. I have no desire to ever go to another Preakness again)

Do you have a favorite racehorse(s)? Not really

If you aren’t a fan of horse racing, what made you want to play the SIM? N/A

If you weren’t a fan of horse racing when you joined the SIM, have you become interested in the sport since you started playing? I became more interested when I started playing, and more so between my two stints.

Are you/have you been involved in other equine activities? Nope

SIM
What game year did you join the SIM? Y19 the first time, Y49 the second time

What are the things that you particularly enjoy about the SIM? The puzzle and the ability to be an "owner" without spending money (save for Game Points)

Do you have a specific goal in mind? Win an SC race on the flat. Be at least mildly entertaining when writing.

Do you feel you have a particular knack in the game? Hahahahahahahaha

What do you find most frustrating about the game? Right now, nothing. After the debacle that was the first time I played, I make it a point to be pretty chill about things.

What is your overall feeling about changes in the game, over the time you’ve been a player? The changes between my second time and the first time have made things much less frustrating. I need the hand holding things like hypos and gallops provide.

What breed/distance/surface divisions do you play? Do you intend to get involved in additional ones, or drop any? TB only, because the mixers I'd be more lost

Do you have a favorite division? Dirt Sprinters and Dirt Milers. They feel like the most obtainable divisions for me.

Is there a particular horse that you feel was the key to your success in SIM? The first time it was Chickadee, which was complete dumb luck. Now it's Santino Fontana, which is also kind of dumb luck because I was willing to pay big for a Steward bred out of an unproved stallion because of his name.

Is there a particular race you’ve won that you were particularly proud or gratified to win? The SC Steeplechase with Chickadee ages ago. More recently the Grade 1's Santino Fontana won and the races that were Steward called.

If you’ve thought about leaving the game (or have left and returned), what makes you stay, or prompted you to return? I left because I was unhappy and frankly a jerk no one liked. I returned years later because I had matured, become more interested in horse racing, and wanted to return. I continue because I enjoy it.

What do you think other players would be the most surprised to know about you as a player? I feel you've all got pretty pegged as a player. I've been open about how I run things.

What do you want most from the SIM? To keep improving, or at least not imploding.
