GOT

Post by Nick Gilmore »

That’s Game of Thrones for the uninitiated....tonight begins the last season and I, for one, can hardly wait!!!!!!

Las Vegas, who will put odds on anything, has put Tyrion at 20-1 to win the Iron Throne. But, who do you think will win? I really want Jon Snow (he is a Targaryen, after all!) to win, but popular thought has him dead in his war with the dead.

I pick Tyrion only because I would think he is the most unlikely and no one would be expecting it. But considering the Vegas odds I'm not so sure now. So, my next would be Arya or Gendry. (It should be Jon but that would seem anticlimactic to me.) Same for Daenerys.

Where’s the no one wins option? ;) I think the Iron Throne won’t even be a thing by the end of the series.

Other than that, I always had a feeling Bran Stark would win it all one day but that was back in like season 3.

I think Jon and Daenerys will get married in standard Targarean fashion and win the throne because dragons!

Although I would love love love if Gendry won it! Maybe he’ll marry Sansa or Arya!

I can agree that Jon and Dany should marry, live in the north and raise baby dragons (one’s got to be female, right?) and dire wolves and agree to leave Kings Landing to Tyrion.

"Win" is a strong word. Jon (Aegon? Aejon? How about we call him Aejon?) will end up sitting on it, but he will most definitely not win. Dany's gonna die. Massive battle between the two of them on their respective dragons in the final episode. Not a great time for Jon, as he takes her out when she's gone full papa Mad King style.

Unless they end up BOTH dying in Dragonbowl (this will come after Cleganebowl GET HYPE). Then their Boatsex Baby ends up on the throne (with Tyrion as King Regent). Everybody says the ending is bittersweet.

I voted for Bran!! :D

Can't believe I was actually right, like I said, ever since season 3 I've had a feeling that Bran would end up winning it all not really sure why though. It was more from the books that I had this feeling, his story just felt like it would go in that direction.

Now it's time to speculate how much of the show fits in with what will happen in the books.
