Tropical Storm/Hurricane Barry

Post by Louise Bayou »

Looks like the bayou state will be getting the direct hit by him. I tried to explain to him that while we like to welcome everyone due to our southern charm he was NOT welcome!

New Orleans is already flooded and the worst of it is not suppose to be here till Friday night/Saturday. One of the neighborhoods got 8.4inches in 3hrs. We got the company wide text yesterday that when we report to work tomorrow (Friday) we should bring an overnight bag because we will be required to stay until this is over. I've worked in emergency services my whole career so this is nothing new to me. But I was worried about my dog being here and having nobody to take care of it. Luckily my yard guy lives down the street and he said he can come several times each day to look after him. And I'm working on having someone spend the weekend here which would be much better.

And Jim Cantore showed up so you know stuff is about to get real!

Stay safe, Louise. So glad you have someone who can check in on Stitch if necessary. Hope it doesn't come to that, though.

Barry seems to be very self-centered, and doesnt care what or who he hurts.

Be safe Lou! We will be getting rain from it on Monday (1-3"), which normally would be a good thing. However we Arkansans can not take much more rain, so we are all prepared for flooding.

So far Barry has been much to do about nothing. And he is taking his own sweet time getting to my area. Its 5pm here and we are just getting some rain and 20mph-ish winds. They say we should be getting the bad part of it in a few hours but we shall see...

He may not have shown up, but you got quality time with your roommate!

We're getting sloppy seconds today; not sure if it will break the current heat wave.
