Hopefully, this can get some of the negative people in the industry out and help start changing a sport I have grown to love for the better.

Hmmm. I can understand a starving little guy breaking the rules to get ahead but a guy like Servis??? I wonder if the net is just pulling in a big name to get extra attention for the case??? also, what are they talking about when saying 'performance enhancing drugs"?? Could be morphine or could be Vitamin B injections. Ie something definitely illegal or something commonly given as a nutritional pick me up.

The barns at Gulfstream Park West/Calder were raided by the FBI, this investigation has been going on since early last year and these are federal criminal charges. Servis' and Navarro's names are not being clickbaited.

The drug relating to Servis and Navarro is SGF-1000, which is a steroid. The indictment document goes into detail about it, but it essentially increases a horse's endurance and stamina. From what I've seen, there is no test for it which is how they were able to get away with it. Other trainers were indicted on * and blocking agents which are all banned substances.

This is going to be big.

Its disgusting. And Servis has had the reputation as a dirty trainer for MANY years. Lets not kid ourselves. The fact is some of these people have been reported but the people reporting it were labeled "jealous" and upset they didn't have a barn/owners as good. And now I'm seeing the whole "Oh they are just after Servis and he wouldn't dope MS beause he looooves him to much". * But just in case you don't believe he was here ya go:

Be a bit leery of a trainer winning with a high percentage of their runners?

But of course, all are presumed innocent until proven otherwise.

On a racing forum I was on years ago, I referred to Navarro as "The Chemist". This guy was winning at a plus 35%. He still is. I used to look at the past performances of his horses. He was virtually claiming horses who were running speed figures of 70 to 78 & as soon as he got them they began running figs in the 90's. I wouldn't bet racees where he had an entry. No one is that good.
Servis' numbers started showing unbelievable improvements starting in earnest last year. At Monmouth he was winning at over 40%.

Glad they got caught. These are guys who are always one step ahead of the state labs.

According to writer Bill Finley:

Intercepted phone call between harness trainer Nick Surick and Tannuzo. Surick–You know how many f***ing horses (Navarro) killed and broke down that I made disappear...You know how much trouble he could get in...if they found out...six horses we killed?

From the DRF

Horses trained by indicted horsemen Servis, Tannuzzo must be sent to other trainers

Ron Lombardi, a horse owner who races under Mr. Amore Stable, has had horses with Servis since 2007. He currently has 15 horses with Servis, including the Grade 1 winner Firenze Fire.

“Right now I’m in total shock,” he said Monday. “I’m trying to gather more information. I know it’s not looking good. I’m trying to sort through everything right now and figure out what I need to do.

Lombardi, who also has horses with Kelly Breen, is hoping to run Firenze Fire in the Grade 1 Carter at Aqueduct on April 4.

Attempts to reach Michael Dubb, who owns several horses with Servis, and Gary West, the owner of the Servis-trained Maximum Security, were unsuccessful as of 2 p.m. Eastern Monday.

I guess I was/am just super naive, thinking the best of all. My eyes are open now. It is around at all levels. wouldn't it b nice if we could race horses to find out which is the best, and not the best medicated. I guess I'll nver really trust horse racing again.
