My Beloved Dog has passed away

Just a couple of hours ago, my poor baby started violently sneezing blood and blood began trickling out of her right eye. She had difficulty breathing so it was clear she wouldn’t make it through the night, we had to make the tough but right decision to put her to sleep. The whole family was able to say goodbye before she left for the clinic and my two brothers were with her as she passed.

She was the greatest dog ever. Loyal, sweet, kind, smart, fun. I loved her very very much and this is hard for me. I’m processing it but the tears won’t stop coming. I knew it was her time, she was 15 and was showing signs two weeks out that she was coming to the end of her long wonderful life.

I’m sure the hardest part will be waking up tomorrow morning with no dog to greet you, and let you know that she wants her morning snacks. And then knowing that I can never pet and cuddle her again. But I have so many wonderful memories with her, as does the rest of the family. She was that once in a lifetime dog and she’ll be sorely missed.

I'm so sorry, Carole. It is always so very hard to lose a beloved canine friend. You and your family made the right decision, of course, but it doesn't make it easier. I am happy she had a good, long, well-loved life with you and your family!

Carole, you and you family have my condolences.

I've been there so many times in my life, having to make that choice and allow pets to have an easier way from this life.
It hurts so much, that I at times wonder why I keep getting another pet, but then the joy that they bring, at least for me, far out-shines the pain when it's time to say good-bye.

I'm glad your dog was able to live to the nice elderly age of 15 and give you so much love and joy during those years. And at the same time, I am saddened that it's had to come to an end...and I wish I could do something to ease your pain.

Best bet,when you're able, is to get another dog; same breed if possible, and start all over again.
