Definitely not beginners luck, some skill goes into picking out the mares that will end up being blue hens ;)

the real question is how many of those 8 hens are TB? You had mentioned pacer and it seems 95% of the pacer mares I retire are hens.

The horses were the ones that got me through trial park, and very greatful i was to have them.

Only my view but most had reached the nw5 stage so took a view.

1 pacer Pete, but it fits into my my .....not racing over a mile plan.

This probably happens to no-one else but me, but I've had quite a few blue hens who nicked A's and A-'s and were bred to the top stallions and they produced claimers or solids. It has definitely happened to me.

Happens to us all! If every baby turned out exactly as well as the hypo predicted this would all be pretty boring

Good for you Frank! I also retired around 20 from my newbie barn. Found  one star (and a couple of B+ not checked). Need to work on my luck in the future! :D
