Letter To Em -before I joined the Sim 2006

Post by Stormy Peak »

I was going through my Hotmail letters... I have a terrible time deleting stuff...lol and found this from December 28, 2006.

I had found the game, poked about, but noticed that a lot of names looked like there were not fake user names. I did not want to use my real name, so I wrote Em this letter. [ some info redacted, of course ;) ]

I was thinking about joining your horse racing sim-game...but I'm pretty
private when it comes to my real name being put on game sites.

If I register will my real name show up in any way that others here would be
able to see it. It appeared that way to me when I looked at the owners
lists...that people were using their real names and not 'user-names/made up
names' Perhaps they are not as paranoid as I am about that? lol.

I have a user name I use quite often in forums and games...and that would be
the only one I would want to have anyone see.

Thanks,

*my real name*
"StormyPeak"...if I end up joining ;)

People do often use their real names, but most of the time they make up a
human name. The rules state you must have a first and last name... You can
be Joe Bob, Fred Smith, Laura Turner, whatever you like.
Whatever suits your fancy! Stormy Peak will even work. We even have a Seattle
Stew

Otherwise, your real name never shows up anywhere, it's all about your
choice. If you ever purchase any game points through PayPal, however, you
must show your real name to me there.

Hope you sign up, you'll love it!

Emily H.

She wasn't wrong with her last 3 words!
I've enjoyed the game so much over the years. : )

Anyone else remember when they joined, or what prompted them to?

I remember laughing a little at the user name she mentioned, "Seattle Stew" that was cute.

I also recall...either in this game or another I use to play...that someone named their stable, "Hidden Valley Ranch"

I enjoy coming across fun user names. I had a friend who use to play an old ESPN Nascar game, based off of the real finishes of the drivers each week. You had so many points to start out with..to buy a certain number of drivers...with some drivers costing more than others. Anyway, her user name was: Pist'n Broke. :? And it actually did kind of match her personality and economic circumstance....she was about 75 at the time...she's in her 90's now, and still funny and feisty as ever.

My user-name is from a nearby mountain, who's name isn't actually stormy peak, but all the locals call it that because it is where the storms come across before they hit the valley. My favorite lake is up there. : )
