Well....I have covid.

I've been sick since Monday night, really sick on Tuesday and it hasn't let up.

I have a friend who gets free home test kits for covid, as she works in the schools during the winter and does home health care in the summer. The hospital test would have cost me $35, and the home test kit was a free one.

I have had the 2 covid shots earlier this year, so I was thinking this was just a bad summer time flue. But I've never experienced such body pain from a flue, all my muscles hurt, and I have zero energy and lost my appetite 3 days ago.

I also feel like, even though I'm breathing in, that my lungs are just not getting any oxygen. My lower sinuses are not plugged, but up higher, there is a lot of pressure. I also feel like i've had a non stop fever for the past 4 days.

Hope you are feeling better soon, Stormy. Is there any chance you could get the anti-bodies shot or whatever it is? Try to keep your fluid intake high and rest as much as possible.

Medicare is covering the COVID tests (at least here in PA). Also, you can get free one's from the government:

If you have someone who can bring you some chicken bone broth, I recommend it! Heat it up and sip on it.

Yeah, I have chicken broth...but it's soo hot here, in the 90's and my air conditioner is old and not keeping the temps in my house down all that well. And too, I've had a constant fever for days and the idea of eating drinking anything warm....ugh.

Maybe in the early morning hours, when things cool down, I'll try the broth.

Cold lemonade will help. If the bubbles are a bit much, leave the lid off in the fridge and then drink it flat. Then you can have broth at night when temps have come down.

If your blood pressure is low (aka you feel semi okay laying down but like a bus hit you if you’re upright) try adding salt to your meals. You’ll feel less like smacked dung with a couple teaspoons of salt in your system to increase your BP.

If you start to cough, avoid cough suppressants unless it’s a very dry cough. If you suppress coughing while you have any mucus coming up, you’ll be setting yourself up for a full blown chest infection and long covid. Gunk is always better out than in!

There are some breathing exercises that are useful during covid, google if you don't have them, and call for help if it gets any worse!
