For a guy who "couldn't throw a pass to save his life," he sure has racked up a nice career throwing the football and heading an NFL Offense...Tim Matthews, Jr. wrote: Dilfer couldn't throw a pass to save his life.

Not to mention he has a Super Bowl ring, and been elected to the Pro Bowl.
I do not think anyone said he was Johnny Unitas or Dan Marino, but lets be fair. Compared to a 3rd year player that has never done anything noteworthy at all, I woud dare say comparing him to the wily vetern Dilfer is a mistake. Why not take a look and compare him to say...Rob Johnson, or better yet Akili Smith.
If they had that much faith in the guy, why did they go out and draft another young QB. Why not sign a decent vetern back-up?

Yep, he sucks. I wonder why he hasn't been playing in the AFL all these years, and instead had a job in the NFL for 13 years.Tim Matthews, Jr. wrote: But the main point is:
Dilfer sucks.
No denying it.
I would hate to see where "awesome" QB's play. Its a shame NFL Europe shut down, I bet good QB's could get a job over there.

On a totally unrelated note, I was in Europe the year Kitna led the mighty Barcelona Dragons to the European Super Bowl title.ARyan wrote: I would hate to see where "awesome" QB's play. Its a shame NFL Europe shut down, I bet good QB's could get a job over there.
It was pretty funny to watch the guy put up U of Florida type numbers against all the ex-truck drivers they had filling up rosters over there.

Why does everyone hate on Jackson?
I'm not saying he's great, but he's not the worst QB ever. That award belongs to Ryan Leaf.
Either way you look at it, the fact remains:
Trent dilfer sucks.
Tavaris is better.
Just having a super bowl ring doesn't make you so fantastic.
And not all pro-bowlers are awesome.
Hey, I know Jackson's not good (I think you people have told me that enough times,GEEZ!), but at least he's young and developing.
And he was not 5th round talent.
Dilfer was taken in the top 10. If you turn out that bad, that's just sad.

Yeah guys, you can't beat a smart 11 year old at debating football. B)dougkidwell wrote:It is sick isn't it. LOLPaul Heinrich wrote: We're homers for sure, but it is kind of fun watching AR and Doug debate an 11 year old. Makes a poppa proud! B)

I was thinking the same thing, and telling Doug, I don't know why I am responding.Paul Heinrich wrote: We're homers for sure, but it is kind of fun watching AR and Doug debate an 11 year old. Makes a poppa proud! B)
In the same term, maybe its good for an 11 year old to realize that an athlete that can stay in the league and be productive for 13 years, and accomplishes things that even QB's with twice Dilfer's talents are unable to do, does not suck. Jeff Geroge anyone...
