This was taken directly from his Wikipedia page and we all know that Wiki is never wrong.Tim Matthews wrote: Hey, I know Jackson's not good (I think you people have told me that enough times,GEEZ!), but at least he's young and developing.
And he was not 5th round talent.
Jackson was selected with the last pick in the 2nd round (64th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft, while he was projected to go much later in the 4th-7th rounds.
QB is the hardest position to succed at in the NFL. I would call Dilfers's career a success. He won a superbowl, has been to the pro bowl, and was a top 5 pick in the draft. He has been in the league a long time and made an awful lot of money. What I would give to have his career.

Valid point. Let me just say now, my original example of Dilfer was not that Dilfer was a horrible quarterback when he went to the pro bowl or won the superbowl. He was a capable placeholder QB. He understood his job, and he did it, for the most part. He still wasn't particularly good IMO, (efficiency ratings are a bit sketchy, I think, regarding how much of it is actually the QB, and how much is the team around him), but he was definitely better than the 4 TD, 18 INT QB he was during his second year.ARyan wrote: ...an athlete that can stay in the league and be productive for 13 years, and accomplishes things that even QB's with twice Dilfer's talents are unable to do, does not suck. Jeff Geroge anyone...
And it will be tough for anyone to argue that Jackson was worse than Dilfer in HIS second year.
Anyway, thanks for the discussion, gents. I'm bowing out now. Skol Vikings!
