Cant pension a mare
Hi,
I have been trying to pension this mare http://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=24682 all day. It lets me get as far as "This can not be undone. Are you really sure" I click ok and then nothing happens.
Am I just having a really blonde day or is something up with this procedure.
Thanks
Rachel

I have noticed this too. I end up just sending the un-pensioned mare to Greener Pastures.Rachel Sadler wrote:Hi,

I had the same issue and also ended up just sending the mare to Greener Pastures.
The mare was Years At Sea, if it matters.

Re: Cant pension a mare
We need to know what happens when it doesn't work.
Do you get the "Are you sure" dialog box?
When you click Yes (or OK), what happens?
Is there a message?
Any error message on the horse's page?
Does it just go back to the horse's page still un-pensioned?
Does it work if you try again later?
Are there any other horse actions that have the same symptoms?
Thanks.

Yes, the 'Are you sure' dialog box comes up.
When you click 'yes' the dialog box goes away but nothing else happens - the mare's page remains exactly the same as it was and she is unpensioned. There are no error messages or other messages.
I did not try to pension the mare later, just sent her to GP. I haven't noticed any problems with any other horse actions.

Re: Cant pension a mare
I just had a go at retireing another horse and it worked.
The dialog box came up, I clicked ok, the page refreshed and below the horses name was the folowing.
Retired Maiden Pensioned.
So far I have retired geldings and mares since first posting but no stallions. Perhaps it might just be a glitch with stallions.
Ian I would put up the names of the horses, so that admin have something to look at.

Re: Cant pension a mare
The following Horse Actions are all handled in the same way:
Triple Crown Nomination
Steward's Cup Nomination
Geld This Horse
Ask The Vet
Ask The Horse Whisperer
Retire This Horse
Pension This Horse
Send to Greener Pastures
Become a Steeplechaser
If you have trouble with any of the above, then I would appreciate knowing which browser you were using and whether any of the other functions above work for you or not.
I am just trying to understand if the problem is with "Pension" or if it is with the way all the above functions work.
Thanks.

Re: Cant pension a mare
Hi Admin
I am using Opera V9.64
I have this filly http://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=49964 I retired her from racing today with no problem at all.
I then went to pension her and it wont let me.
I clicked on the Pension This Horse box, the dialog box then appeared asking me to confirm my choice. I clicked ok and the horses page refreshed but she wasnt pensioned. I then tried twice more for the same result.
So far I am having no problems with the other functions such as gelding etc.
Sorry for being a pain,
Rachel

Re: Cant pension a mare
Try now. There was one character missing and only Opera cared.
