I can't seem to be able to release name for reuse!

The horse that I am referring to is Overtimethingscan. I own the horse and it gives me the option to release the name.....but it wont

The way "Release" works is to rename the current horse with a roman numeral at the end. So this horse's new name would be 'Overtimethingscan I'. That is over the 18 character limit so it chokes and fails. Send the Steward a message to see if she can rename it in a different way.
This doesn't happen very often so that is why there isn't an explicit error message. Sorry about that.
