It's been a while since this thread was active! Who's excited for the CCA Oaks?

Re: Songbird
Love this filly! Another really nice race for her today. I was a little worried about Carina Mia being in there - she's also a nice filly - but Songbird brings home another win.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Re: Songbird
Mikey had to ride her a bit in the turn but when they straightened for home it was all over. Awesome race!

Re: Songbird
After the warm ups (Songbird looked phenomenal) and the break, I thought the race was over going into the first turn (Songbird would win by many lengths). On the far turn, it looked like Songbird would be passed in the stretch and lose convincingly. But at the top of the stretch, it looked like Songbird looked at her adversary and said "NO WAY". After this moment of truth, the race was over and Songbird ran away and won easily. For me, this was, by far, Songbird's most impressive win to date (I suspect that there will be many more impressive wins by her to come in the future).Louise Bayou wrote:Mikey had to ride her a bit in the turn but when they straightened for home it was all over. Re: Songbird
I was really nervous a few minutes before the race went off, but Songbird put Carina Mia away. Not as easily as she has with others in the past, but that's understandable considering it was her first outing at 9 furlongs, she was shipping cross-country, etc. Mike says she got a lot out of this race and should improve a lot since it was her first challenge. He says if she does, there's "no telling how good she could be."
