RIP Ben's Cat

Post by Nini Panini »

Terribly sad news coming down as Ben’s Cat was euthanized today due to complications that arose during his recovery from colic surgery. #RIP

This is the biggest punch in the stomach I've felt in a while in regards to losing a horse. Ben's Cat gave everything and more, and to have him be whisked away from us so soon after such a well-deserved retirement just feels like some kind of joke. I got to see him at Belmont in 2014, and I'm going to treasure that memory even more now. RIP, Ben's Cat.

NO! He was such a favorite of mine and so many others. I envisioned him leading a pampered retirement for many years, being turned out to pasture, and just being a horse. Such sad news.

Kaine Saracen messaged me to ask if he would be added as a stallion, which of course I was planning on. I let Kaine know I was waiting, just in case....

As someone who saw him several times, I'm pretty gutted. He was SO special.

Maybe I should put like 100 Ben's Cat foals up on the sales page this weekend in tribute.

What type of sim horse would he be? Turf router?

Poor boy. It sucks that he couldn't live out the retirement he deserved. At least it sounds like they spared no expense to try to save him.

Saw him race quite a few times. He always gave his best. 32 wins in 63 races. A true fan favorite.
He was mostly a turf sprinter.

Yes, please. I would love many SIM years down the road to look up a pedigree and still see Ben's Cat in the bloodlines.
