Safety Rail

I thought this was interesting. Others may have already heard of this but it is new to me. The Mawsafe Safety Rail at Keeneland. Do other tracks have this?

Televised races in Australia virtually all have these rails. I think they were actually invented here. Some of the country tracks still have aluminium rails though.

I have a mixed view of them. They are SO good if you crash through them. Traditional rails slice you to pieces where the plastic at worst gets caught between limbs. Not so good if a horse in front of you touches them because they bounce and flex and make your mount panic.
