California Chrome sold to Japan
https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... ium=social
Looks like California Chrome is about to head to Japan! This doesn't shock me and I know he will have the best of care at Arrow Stud. He was well received by the Japanese at the auctions this year so, this was only a matter of time IMO.
That being said, I feel really bad for anybody who works at Taylor Made today.

This probably works best for him in the long run but yea the Bring Chrome Home crowd will be having a field day over this
I wonder if he will continue to shuttle to Chile as well or just remain standing in Japan?

Extra bad for their social media manager. I imagine some people are taking this pretty hard...Nena Olson wrote: ↑4 years ago That being said, I feel really bad for anybody who works at Taylor Made today.

That Bring Chrome Home page must have banned half the Sim population a few years ago, good times.

If I'm not mistaken Arrow I believe is partnered with Australia. If not them I know I watched a documentary about Japan breeding and horse racing in general but they partnered with one of the breeders in Australia and are pretty successful. so yes Japan and Australia would likely be the two places he would stand or he would go see a mare owned by one of the breeders in Australia etc. something like that I think lol.

The owner of Japan's JS company released a video about Chrome today:
- They are really excited to see how he crosses with Sunday Silence mares
- Breeders are very excited about his versatility so they're expecting those breeders to be sending quality mares
- He'll be out of quarantine in early January (currently still in the US but will be shipping in the next month)
- Stud fee will be 4,000,000¥ (about $37,000 USD)
- They are expecting him to cover about 120-130 mares this year
- It appears that they're going to keep him in Japan for his first year, but he didn't say one way or another
The video and some quotes can be here (venture into the comments at your own risk)

No it is not Arrow Stud but the Australian farm is Arrowfield Stud (who are partnered with whoever stands Mikki Isle) so easy to mix upJoe Bengston wrote: ↑4 years ago If I'm not mistaken Arrow I believe is partnered with Australia. yeah you're right my mistake. this was the video I watched. I tried embedding the video so you could just watch within the forum without leaving but I couldn't figure out how.
