Which Racehorse Deserves A Movie?
Most of us have seen the movies based off Ruffian,Secretrariat, and Seabisuit but just like the title suggests what racehorse has a story that has been overlooked that you think deserves a film.

Charismatic and Chris Antley. They have a documentary, but a full-fledged motion picture would be epic.

Re: Which Racehorse Deserves A Movie?
I had a whole bunch of article clippings from my aunt when I was a kid, there was one story about a racer who went missing and then another one popped up who looked extremely similar...I wish I could remember his name!!!
Also Shergar. But I’m not sure I could handle the sad...

Lost in the Fog has a documentary but a movie would be amazing. To do what he did while filled with cancer tumors was insane.
They could do a California Chrome movie that is just crazy people going crazy.

California Chrome’s story would be really suited to a documentary. I think a film would overglorify it and a documentary could be very gritty and truthful. They could really emphasise the crazy fans. Whereas if it were in a movie, I feel like people would get more offended about it.
As for horses that should have movies, I remember watching the 2015 Preakness when that lightning bolt strike happened right before the start. Immediately, I thought ‘I can’t wait to see this in a movie’. So American Pharoah would be one. Sentimentally, I’d love to see one about Sea The Stars but there isn’t any rags to riches story behind him. There is a movie being made about Frankel apparently, which would be fantastic. You’ve got the story of his trainer Sir Henry Cecil battling cancer whilst training one of the greatest horses of all time and his horse of a lifetime.

Agree!
I wouldn't mind either seeing Seattle Slew get one...the 'not so greatly bred horse' that wins the Triple Crown, then ends up siring a shipload of great racers and sires.

Re: Which Racehorse Deserves A Movie?
I think Tiumen definetely deserves a movie. First of all, he was bred in Poland and we haven't bred many great horses here. Second, noone at first saw his talent and he was sold as ann addition to another horse. Turned out to be a triple Velká pardubická winner. Definetely a material for a great movie.
