Must have shown something in morning works as was a strong favourite pepper and ran okPepper Carol wrote: ↑3 years ago NEBO ( stupid name, but maybe cause I have no idea what it means AND she's a girl ) is running her first race at Belmont on Sunday !! She was born on my farm. Alas its in a claiming race so I suspect her connections are not very high on her. Can't wait to see her though. Its always cool to watch your babies grow up!!

I’m a manager on a TB breeding farm in KY and I have a Bachelor's degree in Thoroughbred Racing & Management.
Re: What is your role in the racing industry?
I have two fillies that were born on my farm running in the same race at Aqueduct this coming Friday, 9th race!! Nebo was faster as a baby, but Little Ms Scarlet had more grit. They will be side by side in the gate. Can't wait!

Hi everyone, newbie here. I used to work in the racing industry many years ago. Started out as an assistant mutuel manager in several of the Chicago area OTB's before moving over to the now defunct Maywood and Balmoral Parks. I was the assistant mutuel manager at Maywood before becoming the assistant racing secretary; I also filled in at Balmoral as needed. Was also a placing, patrol and paddock judge at various times too. I miss it! More recently I've owned a couple of horses in partnership with some friends. A horse that we bred, Powerful Instinct, was a modest claimer on the NYRA circuit a few years ago.

It's better to have it & not need it than to need it & not have it.

We need a placing & patrol judge. My horses are getting banged around quite a bit.

Re: What is your role in the racing industry?
I have a 50% ownership in a former trotter race horse since I married my wife. I have been veterinary assistant (fetching food for the vet (again my wife)) at a few pony horse race days.
I am much more involved in the car racing industry on a daily basis. (I pick up lighting mcqueens, jackson storms and cruz ramireses from the floor and read about them every night)
