Breeders' Cup 2017

Post by Bryan Doolittle »

Tickets for the 2017 Breeders Cup go on sale in a couple of weeks and I plan on going for at least Friday, if not both days. Who else is planning on going? Is there any advice as to what tickets to get? Or any other advice for visiting Del Mar?

It would be awesome to get a re-do of your last trip! I am thinking of getting an AirBnb instead of a hotel room.

I want to go. Not sure if it's going to happen yet. Santa Anita in March 2018 is definitely happening though!

She meant the SIM's 50th Anniversary party... which is in early April, 2018.

In California, $75 will get you a hot dog and a beer at a ballgame!

OK, lodging options for anyone who is thinking they'll be coming to BC 2017 in Del Mar.

I reserved a room in Mission Valley (20m by car from the track) for the entire weekend, i.e. Thurs/Fri/Sat nights, and that room is something like $105/night. Much cheaper than staying right by the track.

I already have a lovely home in San Diego, so I don't need the hotel room, but if YOU want to come to the BC and you want a place to stay, I'll offer that room on a first come, first served basis beginning April 1, 2017. To be honest, hotel rooms throughout the area will be pretty well sold out for that weekend by Memorial Day, if they make it that long. Holding this room for some SIMsters is my favor to whoever winds up getting it.

PM me with any other questions, or get ready to make your claim on the 1st of April. Happy Racing!

I was all set to go, but then I bought a house. Good bye all the extra fun money. But I'll have to remember the SIM's 50th Anniversary that I can save both money and vacation time for.
