Have to be careful here as some would say this would further increase the rich vs poor gapKent Saunders wrote: ↑4 years ago Another one.....when you geld a horse you get an option to pay $x for the chance (maybe 3%) of a more significant improvement in the horse rather than the very small increase we get today. Just throwing ideas out there...it could be 1% and the increase could be 1 gallop level not necessarily to Freak

Has anyone thought about transportation upgrades yet?
I supposed it would give the same benefit (reduced fatigue) that an animal does. But it could be universal as a travel option —- X% more than the normal freight cost gets you a comfier ride to and from.
If it gave the same benefits coming and going it could help pre race as well.
I don’t think it would matter what size barn you operate — it would just be a matter of whether you thought a proverbial 1st class plane ticket was worth the expense

A fee that will increase the chances of a mare producing twins from like 1% to 10%.

I have to say I don’t really like the sound of any of these. They seem more along the likes of “pay to win”.
The things we pay for now don’t give people a coded advantage, they just give players a better idea of how to enter or breed their horses. Eg. Soundness, Weather, BSA, Hypo, etc. But they aren’t essential. If you are able to pay for boosts in rest, ability, or twins...what would stop a rich player from doing that for every horse, yes, just what we need, people pumping twice the freaks from their fancy can’t do any wrong blue hens...or their fancy freaks running every 1-2 weeks, or their freaks getting boosted every time they run. That does not sound like a game I’d want to play
So yeah... this far it seems all the suggestions will give the rich people an even bigger advantage over other players...

There will always be the rich vs poor argument to every suggestion.
Sounds like we should just deal with purse cuts and simflamtion and carry on.

I personally would love after 10 gallops or something, a button popping up saying 'check for gallop piece'. Maybe your horse needs a gallop piece, maybe it doesn't... if it doesn't it could just say 'Your horse trains fine, I don't think it needs any training equipment' or whatever. I'd definitely pay SIM money for that LOL and it would help everyone.

Not a fan of this. Would skew the studbook information. I know there are already players who do this (stand a stallion in an obscure country and then sponsor statebred races for which only that horse'a progeny are eligible) but it's pretty easy to tell that the $5k stallion standing at stud in India didn't achieve his $75k average progeny earnings by ordinary means. If this was a thing that was common and accepted, the stallion stats would become way less meaningful.Maybe stallions should sponsor races for their offspring only, which will cost more than the purse of the race, obviously... but could bump...
Also a hard no to this from me.Pete Vella wrote: ↑4 years agoSo I run a large barn and yes this would make things easy, but do I really want this? No.Garret Folsom wrote: ↑4 years agoTHIS!Ali Hedgestone wrote: ↑4 years ago Give me an assistant trainer to prep all my yearlings. Workouts, equipment, fitness. I'd spend big bucks on that. Even if I had to rehire the trainer weekly.
If that’s the case why have equipment, fitness, ect ect in the first place?
I think we need to have some challenges in the game to keep it interesting and also showcase one trainers ability versus another. Doing all these for us automatically would remove aspect of the game.
We can hire an assistant trainer already. Find a player willing to do those things for you and hire them to help you.
My vote is no for this.
Also like this, as well as the large fee for farms to have better amenities. Maybe make it a yearly fee. Multi millions.Pete Vella wrote: ↑4 years agoMaybe certain farms can specialize in certain things.
Like each farm owner can pay for 1 specialization.
Farm A specializes in paints. Farm be in qh, farm c in pacers.
If you rest your horse at a farm that specializes in the breed of your horse you get a very small boost in performance the next race they run.
This too. I wouldn't mind if there was a random slide associated with gelding in general.Kent Saunders wrote: ↑4 years ago Another one.....when you geld a horse you get an option to pay $x for the chance (maybe 3%) of a more significant improvement in the horse rather than the very small increase we get today. Not in favour of any idea that involves paying for a better random slide or whatever. Would be very much in favour of increased fees for soundness and weather, as well as a fee for the maturity comment.

How about buying stallion commercials that play before race replays or stallion commercials on broadcasts.

Some things like this already are part of the game. Did you know that the super rich SIM players can guarantee to keep their fancy broodmares alive for longer than a player with no money? It's uber expensive and takes tens of millions of dollars out of the game every year, while not guaranteeing you're getting a foal with any ability. This is kind of how I'd see an increased twin % working, and I hardly think it would be game breaking.Rochelle Zahacy wrote: ↑4 years ago I have to say I don’t really like the sound of any of these. Stallion commercials and ads are less than worthless IMO. The studbook rankings and hypos are the only things that really drive behavior with studs these days.

Re: New and Fun Ways to Spend Sim$
Summary: For millions of Sim$, you can have a statue erected of a specific retired horse at either a track or farm in its "Garden of Champions".
Some Possible Implementation Details:
Any track or farm that has at least one statue would have a link from its page to its "Garden of Champions".
On the "Garden of Champions" page. there would be a thumbnail of each statue with a link to the full size statue.
Each statue would have a nameplate with a brief description of the horse.
Disclaimer: the owner of the track or farm can refuse to have the statue erected on their track or farm.
Note: I would definitely consider having a statue of See You Monday erected.
