I am way overwhelmed! I thought of this contest because I have been intrigued by the create a race (CAR) concept, but had no idea what to do and thought it was mainly interesting at the higher levels. I thought there would be *very* mild interest in this contest. Clearly I was wrong.
So I am changing the following (if nobody objects):
1) I'm upping the number of prizes:
1 winner - Non Graded Stakes - Purse $75,000
6 winners - Maidens/Allowance/NW2/NW3 - Purse $25,000
14 winners - Maiden Claiming/Claiming - Purse $10,000
2) Races can be claimed this year OR next year.
3) Finally, (I don't think that this changes any odds, but seems to me to make it more fun) instead of generating a random number for each category, I'll create one for each prize. That is, I'll generate 21 different random numbers. The first will determine the winner for the Non Graded Stakes, the next 6 for the winners of the Maidens/Allowance/NW2/NW3, and the next 14 for the winners of the Maiden Claiming/Claiming.
As I said, I'm intrigued by Create a Race. I'd really like to hear what everyone thinks. So I'll go and start a thread in racing about the CAR. I'd love to hear what experiences and advice people have who have already done this. And also love to hear what people who win a CAR in this contest are thinking about doing, have done, and how it worked out.
Contest ends Saturday -- tomorrow -- about 6:30 game time.
Currently picked numbers:
1,2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 29, 33, 38, 39, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 55, 58, 61, 64, 65, 66, 71, 77, 78, 81, 88, 91, 95, 98

Sorry and thanks for noticing. I do have that you picked 10 on my list, but somehow lost it in the posting. Good thing nobody else picked it.Emma Lochran wrote:I picked 10 back on page 3, a reminder as I didn't see it on your listEmma Lochran wrote: 10 for all three please.
