Rian was 2nd... got caught in a speed duel w/Way and another horse snuck by to steal the win. :(

All the others ran like crap.

My only mixed breed horse ran last night, Six Fols Dash was 2nd in a maiden. She has run 3 times now, begining with a 4th place finish, then a 3rd and now 2nd. Hopefully she will continue the trend of moving up one place in her next start and WIN.

Finally had a great night! 13 raced, 11 brought home checks with Margaret's Melody winning the Shot of Color Stakes and Alle Breve getting a hard fought 2nd in The Emo Mile. Better yet, I may have figured the right distances for a few of my Apps, so hopefully things will continue to look brighter for that branch of my stable.

Nine starters:

No wins
No places
Three shows
Two fourths
Two fifths
A sixth
A ninth

What have I learned from this?

When a horse really likes the distance they are at, don’t change it.
If, closer to race day, you don’t like the looks of how the field is shaping up, scratch.
Don’t run two comparably talented colts against each other.
If it isn’t the perfect race… make your own instead of running anyway or waiting around for one to show up.

I mean, really.
