Week 12 Wednesday

Post by Teri Lawrence »

Win:

Crimson Pirate, Apache King Stakes - this colt would be undefeated had I not entered him in a distance race as a deliberate test for purposes of future mare selection. He will be retiring to stud at the end of year 24 (no *way* I'm not running this gem as a four year old).

Show:

Eagle Girl, Dawndee Stakes. Nice two year old.
Chinese Wizard - dirt router
Docile - turf sprinter and steeplechaser
Ile de Paris - top turf router
Le Chateau Magique - dirt router
Le Dauphin Noir - turf router and European HOTY
Mid Air Collision - dirt miler
Paris Cubed - turf miler and router

I had my first win for the Mixed Breeds! Yay! And it came in a set! I had two wins today: Lukers and When in Doubt both won their maiden races, and Lukers did so in style! I also got a second with Emellkamp. Overall, 4:2-1-0 I'm happy :D

I had a good night.
Wins:
Judge By Fire in a NW2, only loss came at 400yds on a muddy track.

Strawfly Firewater in an ungraded stakes race. My first stakes win ever. She's headed to the Paint Championships on Week 15.

Treasured Judy in a maiden race. She obviously doesn't want to go farther than 350yds as she failed miserably in her 2 races at 400yds.

Place:
Dash Ta Perks in a NW3. I'm hoping he gets his confidence back up so I can point him at stakes next year.

My others didn't fare as well.

Oddly for me, I only had three horses running tonight.

Barometer Rising (Appy): after winning her first two races, a sloppy 300-yards, and a muddy 400-yards, I entered her in a fast 870-yards Stakes... And she was third by a nose! <3 my baby.

Ra'as (Paint): He prefers the slop, but I ran him in a fast Stakes, which turned out to be a mistake, as he finished fifth and last.

Skaoi (QH): She improved on two thirds and a fourth with a place tonight :D

@ Rob= I'm gonna get soooo tired of typing your name over and over... STOP WINNING DARNIT!!

Well, Gin On The Rocks gets beat out again! Hanover Hack and Gin On The Rocks are gonna be good friends in the breeding stable, but right now are mortal enemies! ;)

All 5 of my mixed breeds brought home a check tonight!
Glide Sally Glide (2yo) won impressively.
Gin On The Rocks finished 2nd.
Miss Montana finished 2nd for the 3rd time in 4 races.
And I had 4th place finishes from Sparkles Dreamboat and Sunday Driver.

I had three running.

Links won the American Trotting Oaks. She's on her way to a farm to rest up for the Stewards ..... can't remember the name of the Trotting race  she is now 6: 5-1-0

Zimm's Good Try was second in the Absarokee stakes after a hellish week. I ran her last week too. Then I shipped her to a farm. Then I decided to run her this week and accidentally shipped her back to the track a day after she got to the farm. and then she ran tired. But she was still second! So Rob, you lucked out in that race! If my mare had been properly rested I think you would have only had 4 wins!

Ran one, & he ran second. Nothing spectacular, but a nice night, in a laid-back kind of way.
LONG OVERDUE FARM: Keepin' it Canada since Year 16.
Stallions to meet your every need. As long as you need a turf sprinter.

ILLEGALITY (Paint) won another stakes race, this time the Furious Velvet Stakes. I am TOTALLY unprepared to have him retire as a stallion, so goodness knows if I do stand him at some point I won't have a clue about what to do for mares!

Iron Sided (Pacer) broke her maiden. Harness horses are the main ones I'm interested in, so that makes me happy!
