Using the Veterinarian

Dr. Hinede Hacklu is the SIM's resident veterinarian. This fast-talking and sometimes grumpy, overworked man starts out by filling you in on his life, then will check out your horse. As of Y44, his life story has been updated!

Ask the Vet
First, the Dr. informs you how your horse is doing, soundness wise. If your horse isn't injured or too close to injury, it is likely that the vet will give him a glowing report.
Second, the Dr. will comment on how tired the horse is. If the horse just raced, or is shipping too often and racing without rest at the farm, the vet's comment will be dreary. As the horse rests, the comments will get much more glowing, leading up to a "This horse is at it's Peak!" comment that every player desires. Unfortunately, once the horse is at its peak, you only have a short while before it will become too rested and need exercise to reach its peak again.
The Dr. absolutely cannot tell you how well a horse is going to do in a race, nor can he release information on the health of the other horses running against you. Use the vet to get a feel for how long it takes a specific horse to recover from travel or a race, and then you won't have to use it as often.

Ask About Soundness
The vet will tell you whether your horse is very sound, sound, unsound, and very unsound.

A visit by Dr. Hacklu costs $500 for New Players, $700 for Juniors, and $1000 for all other players.
