I fully intended to have 30-40 mares left unbred in yr. 24. I went nuts again and have "only" 20 that I will not breed this time around. My excuse is that there are so many interesting and exciting sire possibilities when I was just playing around doing the hypo-mate (or is that hype-mate) I simply couldn't resist and hit the "do-it" button.
I have no excuse... there's always next year. jX

This is my favorite time of the year when it comes to breeding. All my mares are bred, there is no more "Unbred" word in the column, other than on my stud. It's a shame that the unbred part will be filled back up again in only a few hours. But it's also exciting because that means I get to start experimenting again.

Then they pop up as yearlings...and this is the first year I've looked and said, my god!

All finished! My biggest foal crop so far with final count of 105 foals with 57 of them being mixers. I'm trying to break into mixers, so looking forward to seeing how they turn out!

Why have people been bumping a thread since 2006

Cause of that.

Would that make this the oldest, short, current thread in the forum? Gotta love it!

Bumping this because for the first time ever, foals are due on a SUNDAY. But it is the Sunday after Breeders' Cup, so if you're planning on being at the big event, maybe do your breeding before.
