Week 4 Wednesday

Post by Landon Alexander »

Umm.. Midnite beat the unbeatable El Pantera... enough said.... Congrats to Midnite's connections!

I had $73,000 in winning and 4 wins... the best was Djin who remains undefeated at 870-yards, including 2 stakes wins... she most definitely has a date with Dbacks!

Can I just say that I love one of my horses?

Wins
Perec is probably my best quarter horse (not bad for a claim) and will be going in a 220 yd stakes race if I can find one.

Strawfly Firewater is my FAVORITE horse ever. I put her against the boys just to see if she could win... guess what, she did but that's not all. She won by one length over an amazing field, she scored a 85 speed figure (her biggest one ever and possibly the highest paint one) AND she broke the 300 yard record. I love this horse.

Second
Sky High Indian is just begging for a longer distance. Hopefully that's all he needs because I really think this horse could be good.

The other ones sucked and one made it to the gp because she was so bad, LOL!

BLACK TIE OPTIONAL(black 5yo QH Stud) - 2nd in 650 yard maiden.
CLASSIC STYLE(white 2yo QH colt) 6th from 6 in a 220 maiden. hopefully just needs distance.

GREY MISTY(grey paint 3yo filly) 4th from 7 in 400 yard NW2..68 speed fig.

Four starts, everyone was on the board, but no wins this time

Absolute Destiny (trotter) was 2nd at MSW
Amanra (arabian) was 2nd at MSW, which was her first start
Looking For Water (trotter) was also 2nd at MSW (this is getting little bit boring...2nd, MSW...)

Briar Uproar (Trotter) was 3rd at stakes, so he is my first stakes placed runner ever.

I definitely didn't want to run El Pantera in the race, but I couldn't find him a race I liked for Week 5 and didn't want to sit on him. We'll regroup and get back to the winners' circle! Congrats to Midnihte!

I had a whopping 20 starters, the vast majority in maiden races.

20-4-3-6 $46,640

I could wax poetic about how much I enjoy the mixed breeds. I don't have anywhere near this kind of success with the TBs, LOL.

Gah. Remind me never to run a horse at an untested distance off short rest ever again, despite what good shape Dr. Hacklu tries to convince me the horse is in. Next To You bombed -- like, BOMBED -- off one week's rest at her first try at 400 yards. Ugh. Back off, circle the wagons, regroup and try-again time.

Also, a QH colt ran second, I think, or something like that. LOL... A little preoccupied.
