Week 6 Wednesday
Wins
Strawfly Firewater- 3 races in 6 weeks had me worried, especially since she didn't vet well until yesterday. She gets a well deserved four week break and then makes the final leg of her campaign (unless she really wants to run next year, but she'll have to get an amazingly high speed figure or break the record again in the championships to keep her racing). She scored an 83 speed figure and won by 1 1/4 lengths this race.
Sky High Indian- I expect great things from this colt but he just now scored a win (in a 3 horse field) hopefully the longer distance suited him well.
Third
Thirty Seven Ready-Five thirds in 7 starts. At least she's consistant.
I had three others run with no money runs or anything so 50% hit the board.

Re: Week 6 Wednesday
$93,160 in earnings
5 winners tonight including Wineberg for her 2nd stakes victory making her 650-yard record 5:4-1-0 & $112,500 in earnings. I was slightly apprehensive about her start tonight coming in off a 5 week rest. I worked her in the gate and jogged her yesterday and that kept her sharp. She was all buisness coming out of the gate and exploded towards to the wire.

Oh good, Wineberg won. Jarrod and i were discussing that race last night, and i thought Wineberg looked like the class there, he did mention Royal Gold and wasn't far off there.

One winner, and not a particularly impressive one, either, but hey, I'll take it!

Re: Week 6 Wednesday
Probably one of my best nights. 7 racers and stats 3-3-0(4th-1)
Absolute Destiny (trotter) won MSW
Go Van Go (paint) won MSW, breaking his maiden after never being out of money
Innocent Demand (trotter) broke her maiden at her first race
Looking For Water (trotter) was 2nd at MSW
Tahir (arabian) was 2nd at MSW (I'm thinking he needs to go longer )
Tsuki Hime (paint) was 2nd at MSW
Briar Uproad (trotter) was 4th at NW4. Maybe I should give him little rest and try to get one more win for him.

How fun. 100% In the money!
Gin On The Rocks finally lost to someone other than Hanover Hack. This time it was Hanover My Food. Nice job Doug!
Glide Sally Glide won her NW3.
And a new addition to my stable, Templar Treasure ran 3rd in a NW2.

Wineberg is making it harder and harder for people to beat against her! The only horse to get past her at 650-yards had to run an 80+ speed figure! I vet checked her after the race and she was in tip-top shape.

Re: Week 6 Wednesday
I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out and I had Buffington as the horse to beat, but with the work out times for the horses reasonably close to one another at 300 yards I thought I belonged in the group of horses that was entered.Regina Moore wrote:Nice going, Jacob.
