Have you tried updating your QuickTime? I know this was suggested to me last time, because I had the same black-bar thing going on, and I was like "Pssh, I'm pretty sure it's up-to-date."
Then I updated it and it worked fine. :oops:

I actually had the same thing happen to me this time, but I didn't feel like dealing with it so I just went and listened to it through iTunes.

[ETA: Oops, you totally said you reinstalled quicktime, I just have no reading comprehension skills. My bad. Either way, iTunes should work if you have it...]
