For Sell. He's my last paint; I wanted to hold on to him b/c of his potential, but I don't have my full heart in paint-racing and if he pans out as a stallion, I don't have paint mares... He looks like he may relish 400-yards as his best speed figures have come at 350-yards (68sp & 66sp). Is competitive at 300-yds & 350-yds. Has yet to try 400-yds. 870-yds is too far for him, he hated that distance. Last time out he was 8th behind Apollinaire with a very respectable 66 speed figure ... that race had margins of: 1/2, head, 1/2, head, nose, head, 1/4, nose, neck ... separating the top 10 runners.
He worked 300-yds in 17.73 and Mary Weather gave him her seal of approval:
"'Spit Fire' galloped around the track as if he had wings! A very fluid and easy gallop, he caught the eye of all the other trainers!"
