Darn, I needed $250k, lol. But I'll take the breedings since that's what it would have been spent on eventually. :-) I bet I'll find something I like someday. Thanks a bunch Peter.

I'll certainly have to find someone good for Trompe this year.

Nice win/place.show payouts in that race...nice win margin too.

Congrats to the w/p/s contest entries here too :)

I haven't been playing the more complicated contests...been too busy, so these little simple ones are fun. Thanks for posting it.

You're welcome. I guess that means that Rachel gets the game points. I'll send them over now once I find out how to do it

Here's the race if anyone's interested:

Thanks for the contest and the game points Peter.

I created 2 horses Summer Carnival, who got a wings comment and Caulfield Gift who got a nice gallop.

I would be interested in helping organise a sweep for the Melbourne Cup. Let me know what you need doing.

I can also donate some game points to the prizes, and perhaps we can get some other donations from people as well.

Rachel :)

For the Melbourne Cup could we do an actual sweep? Random draw of horses; like $50,000 SIM dollars to enter

x 24 horses = 1.2mil

Winner takes all. It would be massive.

I guess $50,000 might be too high for new players to join. And it might be seen as gambling...would that be allowed?

thoughts?

I don't think it would be seen as gambling by using sim$'s, IMO it only might be if using GP's.
Sim$$'s cant be bought or sold, and therefore should technically hold no real value, Unlike GP's.
But of course it doesn't matter what I/We think, only what em says.

Id be in for a 50k random draw.
But I wouldn't like just one prize.

If its 24 horses, x 50k = 1.2 mil.
Id prefer something like.

1st 1 mil.
2nd 100k
3rd 65k
4th 35k

Or something like that..

But swapping cash in the sim is difficult, Unless Em helps out with that.
So it might be easier technically to just have one prize.
But your comp, I dont care really, just suggesting..

Good luck with getting something going.

I don't care if you do this as long as you know that I have NO part in it, will NOT be helping with the money transfers, and am not associated in any way shape or form, so if someone doesn't get their money or has their money stolen, don't complain about it.

You may not gamble Game Points as Tanitha said.

I was thinking along the lines of 2 sweeps. A 10k like Cleo suggested and the 50k and depending on how many people want to play, those 2 sweeps could be divided into two, so we would have 2 10k and 2 50k, that way we aren't just restricted to number of horses = number of contestants. (Hope that made sense  )

Prizes would pay 1st to 3rd and the owner of the last horse home gets there money back, if players want to donate some prizes as well then we could go back further.

Getting the payments in for the sweep shouldn't be that hard. If we get a few cheap horses from the sales boards and use them as payment ponies and greener pasture them after the contest winners and place getters have been paid. Entries and payments would need to be finalised a few days before the race so that everything can be finalised and late payers chased up. As for money being stolen, I cant see Peter doing that as he was pretty quick in getting the Caulfield prizes out :)

just my thoughts,

Rachel
