In the lead at the moment are

Surprised I'm even within striking distance considering I picked Italy and France to win their respective groups. Oy.

I also had the Netherlands winning it all, which on current form does not appear likely.

Still, the tournament's really just getting started now...

The Dutch just saved this competition for me! I'm still in it....

Best I figure, if Spain and Netherlands make the final, with Spain winning it, I can win my own contest!

Nope, I can't win it. Neil Thorne has me bested in that scenario...

Phooey.

well its going to be close. Holland beating brazil and germany beating argentina has really got me back in the contest. After the group stages i thought i was out of it.

Can see the germans going all the way though

Ive got it as a spain -holland final. with spain to win.

think holland have got a really great attacking team and brazil have possibly the weakest team ive ever known.

d.villa (spain) or
c.ronaldo (portugal) for the top scorers of the tournemant
My thinking is similar to this though I have Holland winning the tournament. One of these times they have to break through, might as well be this year.

Along those lines I wouldn't be too surprised to see Robben among the leading scorers. He takes more speculative, long-range shots than anyone but he's been hitting them at a fair rate this year, particularly in champions league play. He's nailed some spectacular goals recently.

I remember back in '94 when the cup was in the US everyone said Brazil stunk that year too. They don't look terriboly impressive but they always have to be in the mix of favorites.

If Argentina wasn't being managed by a total psycho I'd say they'd be the deserving favorites, but the hand of god will almost certainly manage to * it up somehow.

Dont think we were too far off with this prediction.

Villa been banging them in for fun at themoment and good job for spain too! Only him who has got his shooting boots on for them.

My feeling now is germany to get a win over a lackluster spain. Ozil, podolski and klose will carve them up.

Possibly with klose going on to be top scorer and german to be champions. going to put so money on it

I went with Holland over Argentina in the final so I probably can't win if the Dutch don't win the final, I gain no points tomorrow regardless.

I really think Spain will win but if Germany score first.....yikes, they are lethal on the counter.

well what a close final.

A couple of one on ones with the keepers coming out on top. de jong doing his best karate kid impression on alonso. holland should of had 2 men sent off in the 1st half.

think the best team came out on top though just for trying to play attractive.

Really enjoyed this world cup and dont know what im going to do now its over. just 2 years till euro's then another 2 till next world cup.

Really enjoyed this contest and thank you leo for putting it together. Most money ive ever had at one time since playing the sim is about $160,000 so you can imagine im happy to win this.

thanks to everyone who played and quick mention to kevin who was unlucky to be so close to winning also.
