So what about SIM Degrees of Separation? In the spirit of scientific inquiry, let's see, on average, how many degrees of separation are there between SIM horses using pedigree as the links.
Example - each link must be to sire, dam, or offspring.

The Contest:
I'll give 11 sets of horses. To win, you must post the steps linking the two horses in a set as in the example.
There are two ways to win. (At least to start, you can only win once each way):
(1) For each set, the first person to post steps correctly linking the horses will win 1K GPs.
To start, each person can only win once. (If after a few days, there are still unsolved sets, I'll announce that an additional win is allowed.)
(2) For each set, whoever posts the answer with the smallest degrees of separation will win 1K GPs.
To summarize:
Start: Be the first to post the links for a set and win 1K GPs.
Next: Whether you posted first or not, look for a shorter way to link the horses in each set and post your answer. After 4-6 days or so (depending on activity; will be announced), the winners will be the answers with the smallest number of links (1K GPs).
