Best Named Horse Voting Poll - anything

Post by Jeb Clampett »

Great entries, everyone, competition is tough! Good luck to all.
GP prizes will be awarded to the top three vote getters. In the absence of ties, there will be awards of 3GP's 2GP's and 1GP, respectively. The top two entries (or so, again depending on ties) will go on to a compete in a final contest for all categories.

For easy reference, I've cut and pasted the original comments below, but lost most of the embedded links (sorry). Everyone is very welcome to post here giving links, cheering an entry or just kibitzing.

***************

I was talking to my sister about types of yarn I prefer. I told her that it was all about the fuzzy goodness when it came to pick out yarn.

-------

Gray Flannel Suit...Goodguywearsblack out of Streaking Goddess

-------

So Hotandbothered, by So Hot Im Shocking out of Quick Get It Done.

-------

Look Beagles (http://www.calendars.com/dbs/img/produc ... 009333.png )

-------

This name resulted when for the umpth-teen time I've got pickles on my hamburger when I requested 'no pickles'. I keep thinking I should put a suggested threat on the end of my requests from now on.

Sire: I Should Have Said
Foal: No Pickles Or Else

-------

Rorschach Test (http://www.simhorseracing.com/horse.php?HorseID=156600)

The inkblot test, or perhaps a paint blot test... oh i'm so clever. not to mention you could probably use a paint to do a rorschach test

-------

In my never ending search for names not already taken I came up with this funny one Nkechi Kwame.

While looking for other words for spirit/god I found the African word Nkechi which means "of god" or "of the spirit" and Kwame which means "born on a Saturday". The horse was bred on 11-21-2009 and the parents are Eagle Spirit x Brilliant Colors so the name Nkechi Kwame was a perfect fit.

-------

I nominate Y Are U On Fire, just because his name cracks me up.

-------

Roots Rock Rebel a tribute to both Bob Marley and The Clash, can't get cooler than that....

Voting is finished and results are in:

1st - Look Beagles - Ronnie Dee - wins 3 GP's
2nd (tie) - No Pickles Or Else - Stormy Peak - wins 2 GP's
2nd (tie) - Fuzzy Goodness* - Lee Key Shipyard - wins 2 GP's
3rd - Y Are U On Fire - Nan Larson - wins 1 GP

Congratulations to all! -- And thanks for entering --

Look Beagles will be entered in the final overall poll...coming very soon.

(* I heard from the voter for the second "Fuzzy Goodness" and learned that the vote count, so was total votes were 5, giving a tie for 2nd)

-------
I've sent of the GP's to the winners, with the winnings from all categories added together. In some cases, I've had to send out multiple transfers. In all cases, although they may say "silks, or Simperior, or create a horse, that's just the way they transfer; these are just GP's to spend as you want.
PM me if you didn't receive the correct GP's.
